Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2005 Wow...this looks bad. Mark Jindrak and Luther Reigns vs Eddy Gurrerro and Rey Mysterio Jr -Two teams that are due to break up any day now...don't care. Booker T vs Heidenreich -The less said the better. John's still nothing special in the ring. And Booker's been awful lately. Dawn Marie and Rene Dupree vs Michelle McCool and Big Show -I imagine this will come with a crappy build up earlier in the show. I don't care. And no matter how much tv time they give these new girls, I still won't be able to tell any of them apart. Orlando Jordan vs John Cena -Meh, don't like either guy. Looks like an uncreative way to get the US title off Cena before Mania. The shows have been bad, but they've been looking better than this.
BorneAgain 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2005 Booker T vs Heidenreich -The less said the better. John's still nothing special in the ring. And Booker's been awful lately. Eh, he's had some good stuff with Cena and Eddy lately (yes I know that's not really hard with the latter). Plus he was decent in the tags with Eddy against Rey/RVD. Heidenreich just plain sucks. Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2005 Booker has been moving at half speed for a while now. Just slow kicks, an ugly kneedrop, and a weak scisor kick finsh that involves his oppenent hunched over for 20 minutes waiting for him to do part 2 of the move.. And the worst thing about the knee is that he plays to the crowd making it seem like he's going to be doing something worth watching. I used to like the guy, but he's been pretty bad. I agree somewhat, but I just don't feel like completely writing him off yet. I think he can do better when he's motivated. Perhaps its just a matter of opinion. alfdogg 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2005 I think he can do better when he's motivated. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU. Seriously, I hate when people bash Booker, or Jericho, or someone else who has been buried nonstop for years now, talking about them not being any good without stopping to consider this. Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted March 2, 2005 Its hard to be motivated when you have to do the job for new guys that are 10 times worse than you've ever been. Hard to believe Booker was once a Heavyweight Champ with how he's been used in the WWF/E

When Booker moves at half speed he's ripping off the people who pay good money to see a show. It's not their fault he's not being used well. It's amazing he's still getting the pop he does

Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted March 2, 2005 They know what they're paying for. They can't complain when they enter an arena and leave afterwards having seen another bad JBL match, Taker vs. Random Hoss or New Up and Coming talent that needs to pay their dues via squash, and a completely disasterous tag division. That's what they get each week. Also if I was Booker I'd go half ass too. I wouldn't go out of my way for a company that allows racist angles that constantly berate my nationality and doesn't appreciate what I bring to the table. Fuck'em. Its all on management. alfdogg 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2005 If the fans are still cheering for him, then yeah, it's obviously not their fault that he's not getting pushed. I mean, Orton got a few face pops as a heel, so they turned him face and he promptly lost his heat, yet they continued to shove him down our throats and put him over guys he had no business going over. Meanwhile, guys like Booker and RVD come in and have maintained face heat that Orton wishes he could have (not so much Booker as RVD, though), and they're feuding with Heidenrich and Rene Dupree. A prime example of the WWE not listening and just pushing whoever they want.
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2005 I am not so sure that Booker's performance is a lack of motivation. Sure it could be, but he has also had a lot of back and knee problems. That can't be good for his speed and agility. Look at Shawn Michaels, he moves at about a 1/4 speed of what he was doing in the Rocker days and he gets pushed as much as anybody. I'll agree with that. While I do suspect a lack of motivation (For proof his tournament match on Smackdown 2 weeks ago with Cena was easily better than anything in their best of five series) Booker has been wrestling for 15 years now. Heck, he's actually a few months older than Michaels! That has had to have taken a toll on him.
Fökai 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2005 In a company that showcases talent like Kenzo, Heidenreich, Masters, and Snitsky, trust me I hardly feel ripped off watching a Booker T match. edit: And the knee move he does is no worse than something like the Five Knuckle Shuffle or the French Tickler. 1. Kenzo hasn't been on Smackdown since the Saitama event, where he jobbed to Eddie in under four minutes. 2. Heidenreich has been jobbed out to an unmotivated Booker T -- trust me, he's on the low end of the totem pole. 3. Let's not get ahead of ourselves with Chris Masters. He's defeated Steven Richards and an unknown jobber (John Walter) in consecutive weeks, and he's probably going to be de-pushed after the axe-handle incident last week (ex: Heidenreich injuring Richards last spring). 4. If Booker needs to see what a motivated Booker can do in the ring, he should look no further than last November and his title program with Layfield. In that Booker/Matthews v. JBL/Jordan tag match on Smackdown, Booker had a hot tag that lasted over TWO MINUTES and had the crowd on their feet the whole time; it seemed as if he was moving at a hundred miles per hour for the entire sequence, using every move he had used in his entire WWF/WWE run. If the body of work between a motivated and unmotivated Booker will be *this* large, especially if he's only going to try when he's within reach of the brand's main title, I'd rather he stay in the midcard and keep going through the motions. UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2005 To agree with bravesfan, Snitsky's "showcase" this week was a 3-minute clean job to Shelton. To disagree with bravesfan, re: Booker T, that two-minute hot tag was because THAT IS ALL BOOKER IS GOOD FOR, a couple high-impact moves in a row. Including poorly-executed clotheslines, a pretty good sidekick that was better executed 7 years ago, a way-past-credible/believable and quite-lame "scissors kick", and a pinfall run-in a week later including an announcer that the fans popped for. To be fair, Matthews was much more "exciting" than Booker. Not starting an argument, I was a huge Booker mark in 96-98, but dude...c'mon...Booker hasn't done anything remotely remarkable since '98. His match with JBL sucked ass. And you know what? So did the majority of JBL's title defenses, because he had poor challengers. Taker. Taker again. Booker. Only Eddie got pretty good stuff out of him. I blame the bookers. JBL is a pretty decent/average worker that is a credible champion, awesome on the mic, and needs a great challenger. Booker was NOT that challenger. Nor was Booker the guy to bring prestige to a feud/reign for the U.S. Title. Nor was Booker a guy that could carry Heidencrap. Booker T is way past his prime and only useful in 2-minute spans when hitting trademark high-impact moves or being carried by superior workers. I've said this for quite some time. Prove me otherwise.
