All-Time Draft

West Hills = outside of Portland, OR... so go ahead and assign me any park. You know, except for any park in the history of Houston. I won't have that stupid hill or terrible astroturf churning the knees of my outfielders.

Ahh... did NY play at Yankee stadium before being called the yankees though? Just wondering... my history for old-ass teams is bad.

I'm actually assigning your team name as either Bethlehem or Jerusalem, since someone else is using the Portland Beavers. Or, I could name your team the Hollywood Fightin' Jews, and give you Wrigley Field in Los Angeles.

They played at Hilltop Park as the Highlanders, moved to the Polo Grounds in 1913, and then changed their name to the Yankees. Yankee stadium was built in time for the 1923 season. The dimensions I requested were the original ones. I assume the corners were deepened and center brought in at some point before the renovation in 75-76, but I haven't been able to find info on that yet. 490 in center is crazy.

I have all the stadium info available from my copy of Total Baseball, so I can iron out the details.

Yankee Stadium. I think the 1937 dimensions are suitable, which place the fences at 301 in left, 457 in death valley in left, 461 in center, and 296 in right. Part of the odd dimensions was to accomodate the stadium for football games. The first overtime game in NFL history was played at Yankee Stadium.

Just out of curiosity, how are we going to try some of the more "crafty" pitchers in this simulation? Should we bank on Eddie Cicotte being able to slip a shine ball past the modern officiating?

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get in on this, but I will be watching.

Question, Al...are you just going to sim an entire season and then do a recap of that season in full, or break it down month by month?

I'll produce reports either each month, or each quarter of the season.

Since there is no DH, will there be trades allowed? There's no point in me having 2 HOF first basemen.

No, I asked already. I assume you might have to convert one of them to a different position, but that's a death knell, I think.

As long as he played LF in 1940, and half of 1945, it's all good. He had possibly his best year in 1940.

Wouldn't Al be more likely to use his more consistent stats (accumulated as a 1B) than one year where he was a LF?
