USC Wuz Robbed! Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 I don't think we're going to see Cena's Writer for the rest of the night...
Vern Gagne Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 It does for me. I'm two spots away from picking, and where close to finishing the 2nd round.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted March 10, 2005 Author Report Posted March 10, 2005 I have Cena's next pick via PM.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 As long as I get to pick sometime tomorrow, I'll be fine.
Vern Gagne Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 I'm lazy what is your team Californian.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 Las Vegas 51s- the home of Satchel Paige and Tom Seaver.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted March 10, 2005 Author Report Posted March 10, 2005 Vern, if you like you can PM me two picks in case Bravesfan posts, since I'm calling it a night. I'll hit up yours and Cena's picks in the morning, and add my own.
Vern Gagne Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 I just pm'd Al, my 2nd and just in case 3rd round picks. Bravesfan should be the last pick of the night, and than the draft should get moving in the morning.
Vern Gagne Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 Al went to bed. So take your time with your pick.
Guest Brian Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 You guys should pm your picks to me or someone else on the west coast in case this happens again.
Vern Gagne Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 I'll be willing to send my late night picks to you or Bravesfan, when my schedule when my hours go back to normal.
Fökai Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 This should've been a no-brainer for me...   My favorite player of all time...Greg Maddux.  EDIT: Yeah, either way for the PM thing is okay with me, Vern.
Vern Gagne Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 You get four Greg Maddux's? Great pick, and Maddux is one of my favorites as well. Â Since he's gone. I had Maddux has an one of my pm'd picks to Al.
Fökai Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 Since he's gone. I had Maddux has an one of my pm'd picks to Al. I'm always worried that my picks won't stand up to the others.  Thing is, I wasn't too sure that Maddux would come back to me in the third round, which was a good move on my part. Hopefully, at least one of the other two that I had considered will be there (hint: one pitcher, one batter).
Vern Gagne Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 I wouldn't worry about it. The first few rounds should be easy. It's when we're scrapping for good pitchers.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 That's why I'm stockpiling on pitchers.
Vern Gagne Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 I think my probable next pick, will fit perfectly to where i'm playing. Plus, I couldn't risk passing up one of my All-Time favorite players.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted March 10, 2005 Author Report Posted March 10, 2005 Cena's Writer selects Hank Greenberg. Â Vern Gagne selects Mel Ott.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted March 10, 2005 Author Report Posted March 10, 2005 That brings up Brian, myself, and Dr. Tom. And then the same three in reverse.
Guest Brian Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 With the 18th selection of the second round: The Baltimore elite Giants select 2B Eddie Collins.
MARTYEWR Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 What about Sunday evening? Anyone have an issue with that time? Sunday anytime is good for me.
The Man in Blak Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 Sunday's not so good for me, unfortunately.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted March 10, 2005 Author Report Posted March 10, 2005 Wow. I simply cannot believe this player fell to me. Â My second round pick is a Philadelphia legend. The greatest player in the history of the Phillies. 548 career home runs. 1,507 career walks. Three MVP awards. 10 Gold Gloves. 12 All-Star Selections. Â The Stroudsburg Poconos select 3B Mike Schmidt.
Guest Brian Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 I figured he wouldn't escape you. I felt like I had to pick up Collins given the quality of 2B doesn't touch the top three.
Vern Gagne Posted March 10, 2005 Report Posted March 10, 2005 The Rochester Hop Bitters don't have blithering crybabies.
Guest Brian Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 If anyone thinks that their number might come up tonight, and you won't be online, you can pm your picks to me. I'llbe up a good portion of the night because I have a paper to write, unfortunately.
Guest LooneyTune Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 (realizes I'm about 19 picks away from my selection) I think I'll wait... (curses the number 17)
Vern Gagne Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 Does the Dark Lord know it's his turn to pick?
