LT, I can't speak for the others, but I'm very interested to see how that turns out. I think many of us feel he was one of the most naturally gifted athletes ever, so how his playing career translates to the sim will be rather interesting.

In fact, in a way, I hope it works out for you. Except when you play my team. :)

Jackson had some pop in his bat, stole some bases, and had a rocket arm. His walk to K ratio was horrible. His slugging was average, and most importantly his carer OB was .309.

I was too lazy to check his stats when I wrote that. Ah well.

Hopefully the sim would be based on his 1989 season. :)

Oh, it's not completely simulated? I must've skipped over that part. I thought 1 season sensations were based on their career averages and not the 1 season in question. That should ease the blow a little bit.

I wouldn't use him for any of his seasons since 1998 really, but he's not in my hands.

KingPK - Could you update the draft listing thread please?

Thanks.

Like I stated in the other thread, I found a new database that adjusts for era, and uses a player's career statistics. So guys who had fluke years do not show up as well. In the case of Bo Jackson, he is interesting because he really broke through the year before he suffered that hip injury. His 1990 line includes a .342 OBP, 28 HRs, 15 steals. And as anyone who witnessed the 1989 All-Star game can attest, he had some true power in his bat. Buck O'Neill equaled his swing to Babe Ruth and Josh Gibson. I don't know how the sim will find Jackson, but at the very least he is an effective power/speed threat.

Woohoo! Getting such a late draft number for odd rounds gives me a good advantage for that round at least.

Kansas City takes OF Bobby Bonds.

EDIT: I had pencilled down a pick, but changed my mind. Given that nobody read it and the picks list wasn't updated, I thought it would be okay to change...however, if it's not, Al's got my old pick as well.

I could really go anywhere with this pick. But this pick crossed my mind the last couple of rounds. I have an idea to use this guy as my primary set-up man as before last year he split time between being a starter and a reliever.

Bored has officially taken the draft into a new direction by picking someone who has been a pro for 5 years.

I was thinking I could steal Santana at the beginning of next round. Damn.

Whoops, so many rounds. OK, you continue to take the draft into a new direction. Now I don't feel too bad thinking about picking players currently active (and young).
