Weird fucked-upness... 'User Profile Not Found'

Okay, so this morning I woke up as I usually do and started up the compy. It got to the 'Welcome' screen then said 'Windows cannot load local user profile.' Got the message fucking TWICE. Panic setting in. Definite fear. Restarted compy. Got to the Welcome screen again...waited...jumped to the plain blue screen - as it does just before it starts up the Log-In/Password/Code thingy - then it finally got to our desktop.

 

The desktop was majorly fucked up. MAJORLY. Well, it had our folders, but my shortcut to WMM, Photostudio, Photshop, DVD Ripper... ALL GONE, BYE-BYE, WOO SEE YA!! NOTHING was there!!! And my folder? Ye gods... I opened it, immediately panicked upon noticing that the XP folder settings, which we've had disabled for quite a while, were there. And in my folder, NONE of my videos were there, my projects, my downloaded movies... ye gods...

 

MAJOR PANIC.

 

Not knowing what else to do, I restored the computer to Sunday... now everything seems normal.
