Fökai 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2005 Sounds like the 2nd hour is the only viewable hour. Smackdown is promo heavy - the matches get their appropriate time, but the show does alot of building to Mania (and some to next week). For instance, there are three in-ring promos on the show, with two of them considered to be great.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2005 Every week RAW seems to have good matches, or matches that at least look good, and the show seems to fly by. Smackdown is such a chore to get through these days, not one match looks any good. The tag match looks ok at best.
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2005 Heidenreich/Booker T is the Snitsky/Shelton of SD, only without the high match quality. ... UYI

Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 Two potentionally good matches. One of which is on Velocity. Not a good week, but at least the main event should be interesting. The killed Heidenreich's career at the Royal Rumble, just send the guy back down to OVW already. They are only damaging him further by keeping him in the big leagues. claydude14 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 Being a legitmate Smackdown! fan over RAW, I usually don't read even these non-spoiler threads, but I'm drunk. That said, the fact that JBL and OJ have a chance to become a dynsaty on their own without the Bashams sounds like a fucking huge main event to me. How many legit Smackdown! over RAW fans are there on this board? Not a lot considering how only such a low percentile of the audience watches both shows according to Linda McMahon. I prefer Smackdown to RAW on the whole, although some weeks RAW is better. I like the non-spoilers, because it gives you something to look forward to. I always find that I look forward to a show more when I know what I'm going to be seeing but not the outcome.
Taker666 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 I perfer SmackDown! over Raw sence Teddy became GM for a number of reasons.... -More Entertaining GM -MUCH better and entertaining World Champion, JBL ownes all! -No Triple H or Randy Orton. two of my LEAST fav superstars right now -Cruiserweight Division > Woman's Division (even if they aren't being used right, a Cruiserweight Match here and there is more fun to watch than Woman Wrestling -A More entertaining Roster. Star power or not, SD! has more entertaining and talented wrestlers IMO. - The Undertaker, The superstar I look forward to watching in all of WWE right now -JBL, I can't get over on how much entertaining this guy is. -The Announce Team. Tazz and Cole have good chemistry together. I enjoy the little confrontions they have with each other sometimes, Lawler and Ross has become somewhat stale IMO. -Velocity>>>>>>>>Heat Only thing I hate about SmackDown! are the faceless bimbos sucking up airtime in meaningless segments that amounts to nonthing. but I could always change the channel when they come on and switch back when they're over. I'am not saying that Raw is bad overall, I watch both shows every week, and theres been time when I've enjoyed Raw over SmackDown!. but overall, theres just more on SmackDown! that I look forward to watching over Raw. Even when I read spoilers sometimes, the show comes off so much better and different on TV than on paper.
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 -More Entertaining GM He's the best figurehead since the Foley vs. Edge & Christian days. I was really worried for awhile that they were going to remove him during the Carlito storyline. -MUCH better and entertaining World Champion, JBL ownes all! Last summer when Benoit was champ things were different, but the Smackdown world title picture has been better ever since Summerslam, especially during the Angle/JBL feud. -No Triple H or Randy Orton. two of my LEAST fav superstars right now I like HHH, I really do. The problem is that I'm just sick of seeing him all the time. At least as champ. They completely messed up with Orton. I would add Shawn Michaels to this list too as I have no interest in seeing him going over guys who have a future like Jericho or Edge. -Cruiserweight Division > Woman's Division (even if they aren't being used right, a Cruiserweight Match here and there is more fun to watch than Woman Wrestling We get many good CW matches on Velocity. Even if they don't make it on Smackdown all the time. -A More entertaining Roster. Star power or not, SD! has more entertaining and talented wrestlers IMO. Absolutely. This is probably the biggest reason. Smackdown wrestlers I like outnumber RAW wrestlers I like almost 2 to 1. I'll take the likes of Paul London & Chavo Guerrero over Viscera & Chris Masters anyday. RAW is filled with useless guys (Masters, Viscera, Flair, Rosey, Snitsky, Dean, Tomko, Grenier, etc.) where as on Smackdown pretty much everybody has at least some value aside from Heidenreich. and possibly Hardcore Holly. There are just so many guys on RAW that make me want to turn off the show as soon they come out. - The Undertaker, The superstar I look forward to watching in all of WWE right now Eh...Undertaker is basically a non-entity as a full time performer. I actually think he would be better suited on RAW, but I don't hate him or anything. -JBL, I can't get over on how much entertaining this guy is. If it wasn't for this guy, I would really be struggling to watch the product at this point. There is some good stuff, but he is really the only guy (besides Batista) that is on fire at this point. -The Announce Team. Tazz and Cole have good chemistry together. I enjoy the little confrontions they have with each other sometimes, Lawler and Ross has become somewhat stale IMO. This has been a problem for awhile. My feelings is that if Smackdown is even near equal to RAW in terms of product, that it will seem better simply because the announcing crew is so much better. I often cringe during RAW and RAW PPV matches, and Heat is unwatchable because the announcing is so bad. -Velocity>>>>>>>>Heat Easily. In fact you summed up pretty much how I feel aside from the Undertaker thing. This comes into play with both the point about the rosters and the one about the announcers. Smackdown has a lot more depth in the lower card. The only lowcarders on RAW that I even care about are the mega-stale Hurricane, Val Venis, and Tajiri when he's not getting a push like he seems to get every few months. Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted March 10, 2005 Smackdowns (only now?) heel stable consists of JBL, Orlando Jordan, and the Bashams... that has to be the worst foursome in the history of the WWE. Bashams lull people to sleep since coming up from OVW, Jordan was never that good, and JBL isn't a good enough wrestler to cover the others up.

Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted March 10, 2005 Good point. Although I rarely watch Smackdown, it can be entertaining at times (mainly because of JBL), plus Velocity almost always has a pretty good match while Heat almost always sucks.

Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 I perfer SmackDown! over Raw sence Teddy became GM for a number of reasons.... -More Entertaining GM No argument here, although I'm liking Bischoff as a tweener. -MUCH better and entertaining World Champion, JBL ownes all! Agreed, although he still doesn't seem like a main eventer. And he's surrounded with guys that just won't get over. They're only booed cause they're with him. -Cruiserweight Division > Woman's Division (even if they aren't being used right, a Cruiserweight Match here and there is more fun to watch than Woman Wrestling The cruiser divison is so poorly booked. Pretty much you get the champ in matches (every now and then), and the guy he's feuding with in matches. You'll never see Funaki vs Shannon Moore out of the blue unless one has the title or is the #1 contender. WCW booked it well where it felt like anyone could win it at any time. -A More entertaining Roster. Star power or not, SD! has more entertaining and talented wrestlers IMO. I disagree. Way too much time given to guys that are uber vanilla like Orlando, Bashams, Dupree, Kenzo (although not lately), and Jindrak. - The Undertaker, The superstar I look forward to watching in all of WWE right now Beh -JBL, I can't get over on how much entertaining this guy is. Again, yeah. -The Announce Team. Tazz and Cole have good chemistry together. I enjoy the little confrontions they have with each other sometimes, Lawler and Ross has become somewhat stale IMO. I think they're awful. Tazz will just ramble on about nothing and go a million miles away from the match. And Cole just seems like such a tool. They also seem to have to redub a good amount of their lines.

SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 No. 1 Contender Match (champion Chavo Guerrero doing commentary) Akio v. Paul London *marks the fuck out* Indeed. Now, if can only REMEMBER to watch. Why do a #1 Contender's match on Velocity? Will the title shot be on Smackdown or at Wrestlemania? (Mania deserves a good one-on-one cruiser match.)
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 Doesn't make any sense for the match to be on Velocity, or for Akio to even be in it, dude doesn't win matches. Just seemed like something they tacked onto a match they were already going to have
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted March 10, 2005 Maybe it's an excuse to have another London/Akio match... and people better not be complaining. Their matches have been the best stuff in terms of WWE wrestling this year.

Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 Bashams lull people to sleep since coming up from OVW Bashams have been picking it up lately. Team Angle Pusher 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 Funny how people now say JBL is a great WWE Champion, I agree but when he first won it and when he kept it for 3 months people started to totally bash WWE. And now he's a freakin' wrestling god. I like JBL, but I liked Bradshaw too. I think the shows are a bit equal, although I think I give RAW my vote as the best one because RAW has the better storylines lately. Batista/HHH was just great and people tuned in to see this story develop, also Edge's character has been a highlight on the show and Christian's too. Also RAW normally has more matches then SD! which I like, SD! has too much women on their show and they have no charisma and they can't wrestle, they just have fake boobs. Cruiserweights > Women's Division, but I just enjoy watching RAW more nowadays. I DO look forward to some more JBL promo's though. I also feel SD!'s main event scene isn't that good. JBL I like, but Big Show is boring and he keeps getting involved with the women and John Cena is just boring in the ring. Kurt Angle isn't seen as a credible WWE Title contender at the moment, but he's having a big feud with HBK.

They've had some good matches vs. Rey/Eddie as well as vs. Haas/Holly last week on Velocity. Put me down for liking SD over Raw, too. I won't argue that. They've been somewhat entertaining than when they were S&M freaks, but they still don't scream "watch Smackdown/Velocity to see me." Still better than any version of La Resistance, mainly because Sylvain Grenier really sucks.
Toshiaki Koala 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2005 I'm sure the London/Chavo CW title match will be on the Heat before 'Mania, and will end with a rollup after four minutes. OK, I'm being Smarkastic~! But it probably will be on Heat. And if it goes over six minutes, expect a commercial break in the middle.
Guest Shadow Report post Posted March 12, 2005 There is NO heat. It's 4 hours. It will likely open the show or be pigeonholed in between two "bigger" matches to give the fans a shit-break or rest from the prior "big" match, i.e The womans title match @ WM18.
