TNA News and Notes

It doesn't appear the planned live special on the FOX Sports Network will be happening next month, although the idea isn't completely dead for down the line. Jeff Jarrett is scheduled to head to Los Angeles next week for meetings.

TNA will be holding its Third Anniversary PPV on 6/19. I don't believe there are plans to return to Nashville, TN for that event.

The promotion will begin building up a September PPV titled "Bound for Glory" as their main event of the year. According to several sources, the show is being designed to be TNA's version of Wrestlemania, in that it will be a marquee event with storylines peaking there.

There have been discussions of late about TNA running in New York City, although the timetable wouldn't be for several months down the line. One major obstacle standing in the way of that happening is that TNA has lost their TV coverage in most of NYC due to the Cablevision-Time Warner situation that led to Time-Warner dropping the Fox Sports Network from their lineup of stations. I've heard UXW promoter Frank Goodman's name mentioned in regard to the situation, so he may be getting involved there. He's said on his local New York City hotline that he's been in discussions with TNA about working together.

Raven is currently auctioning off several items on his official website.

I hope they do work out the deal for that Fox special, because that could be very good for them. I love the idea of Bound for Glory being their "big" event, since that was going to be their first PPV so long ago. The only way it's going to feel bigger than the rest though is if they leave Orlando. And I did believe that the 3rd anniversary show would be Nashville, but the rumors now say they're looking at Pittsburgh. And them running in NYC would be interesting. Hadn't really thought about it. The ratings must be great in the Northeast and Midwest, because all the place they've talked about running are up there.

The special is in jeopardy because they don't know what will happen to BDSSP since Tom Arnold is leaving the show, and it was to run in conjunction with it.

Didn't Arnold's association/demands for with or for TNA kind of cost him his job? I heard that somewhere, maybe on the radio, and they made it seem like he was ousted because of what he wanted compared to what FSN wanted.

No, his contract ran out. He signed a new one year contract that will keep him on the show in a reduced role, on the road for the show at special events.
