2GOLD 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2005 This Iowa/Cinn game is like watching grass grow. I might actually turn this off and go watch grass grow. Well, it would be a hell of a lot more interesting than this. PLEASE send me to Penn/BC! ETA: THANK YOU CBS! I'd rather watch the Eagles blow out the Quakers. Der Kommissar 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2005 I have a bad feeling that I might be forced to watched this game, since it's Midwest. I am REALLY hoping for BC-Penn. Heck, I'd even take Washington-Montana at this rate.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2005 Four for four, baby. I found the Pacific game a very easy pick. Pitt has just been way too inconsistent to upset a very good Pacific team -- and it would have been an upset. The thing is that for the most part, Pittsburgh had been playing really well against good teams. I thought they'd recognize that Pacific was a formidable foe, and they'd need their A game to win it, but apparently, they just figured "mid-major, can't be that good", and didn't get up untl the second half. Pacific's far too good to beat with that kind of mediocre effort. Now I just hope that Pacific beats Washington, so that everybody else misses out on those Sweet 16 points that I'll be missing. Oh, and even with losing 2 games already, I did get some good news this morning. In my pool for money, only 2 out of 15 people (including me) picked Illinois to win it all. As long as they make it, I should have a really good chance of winning no matter how may first round games I screw up.
Der Kommissar 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2005 Goodie. This game is working out well. Cincy is beginning to blow them out, so maybe they will change it to a game that doesn't suck.
smh810 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2005 Cincinatti is KILLING Iowa early. Frankly, the Hawkeyes have no business in the tourney so this isnt a shock at all.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2005 And a little smaller good news too. Even though I went conservative in the money pool, I guess I actually picked Milwaukee on the TSM pool. That game was such a tossup, that I switched on it about 8 different times.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2005 Now I just hope that Pacific beats Washington, so that everybody else misses out on those Sweet 16 points that I'll be missing. I'd love it...I have Pacific in the Sweet 16.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2005 On to Utah-UTEP. This should be a good one.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2005 I think you've got a great shot to be honest. The Huskies are really vulnerable and Pacific is exactly the kind of team to pull the upset. 8 seeds upset 1 seeds about 3 or 4 times more often that 9 seeds do too. Der Kommissar 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2005 Yes! They just said "Fuck you" to Iowa-Cincy, and switched to BC-Penn. Thank god! EDIT: 25-7? Glad I didn't think Iowa was going to pull the upset.

Alro 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2005 2 for 4, losing Sweet Sixteen pick Alabama in the process. Great start. I really didn't expect Huggins' Thuggins to run off on Iowa like this.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2005 Washington on a 16-0 run to open the game.
Der Kommissar 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2005 I like the announcer who said, "If Washington can somehow pull out a win here..." like Montana has a good chance of winning, despite being a 16th seed down 16-2 in the 1st half.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2005 Yeah, this is going to be a fun afternoon session. Since I'm in Missoula, I'm going to be stuck with the UW/Montana game forever even though I haven't followed the Grizzlies all season. It would be one thing if they were even trying to make a game out of it, but it's 16-2 already, and I don't see any signs of it turning around any time soon. mike546 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2005 Utah better not lose here. I have them in the sweet 16. EDIT: A LITTLE bit of coverage? I swear there was a segment each half hour commited to them "not getting respect"
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2005 They were doing a feature on the basketball program, kind of similar to the "The Season" feature they used to do. It's not like they really thought Washington was newsworthy enough that they just had to follow all their practices.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2005 I have Utah, Iowa, Washington, and BC. I don't have another day off until Monday. What round will we be in on Monday?
KingPK 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2005 No games Monday. The Sweet 16 starts on the 24th. One of Penn's players (Zala, I think his name is) looks like a dead ringer for Carlito Carribean Cool. Unfortunately, Penn is ice cold from the field right now.
Der Kommissar 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2005 One of Penn's players (Zala, I think his name is) looks like a dead ringer for Carlito Carribean Cool. I don't know. He looked more like Micky Dolenz from the Monkees to me. EDIT: It's too bad Penn's getting owned out there. Even Montana is closer than them right now. EDIT #2: I love how yahoo says that "Washington is making a strong case for their top seed." They are beating Montana. That was pretty much expected. Now, if they are hammering the crap out of Louisville or Georgia Tech, then that's making a strong case, not beating a team like Montana.
