Slayer Posted March 20, 2005 Author Report Posted March 20, 2005 If NCSU and UConn keep this up, they'll have all of 30 points combined at halftime
Damaramu Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 You know I'm upset that my favorites are getting eliminated and what not. But then again I'm excited that so many teams are coming on strong and teams are coming out of nowhere to whip ass. Hopefully the Final Four won't be the same old "2 ACC teams, Big East team, and Big XII team" that it always is.
sfaJack Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 Hopefully the Final Four won't be the same old "2 ACC teams, Big East team, and Big XII team" that it always is. Don't worry, it won't--the Big XII isn't going to have a team in there.
mike546 Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 Ugh, what a pathetic first half. Â UConn would be up by double digets if they didn't freaking have so many turnovers.
Damaramu Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 Hopefully the Final Four won't be the same old "2 ACC teams, Big East team, and Big XII team" that it always is. Don't worry, it won't--the Big XII isn't going to have a team in there. I still have OSU going all the way. They are probably far and away the best team in the Big XII. And they are the only team in that bracket that can beat Illinois which they can do. Â Kansas was full of guys with senior-itis that I guess thought they could just win games b/c of who they are and no actual hard work. Â Tech and ISU are decent but not good enough. Â Texas sucked. Â And OU was good when they're on but when they're off......oh boy they suck.
mike546 Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 I just realized WHY UConn is having so much trouble. Â Everybody beside Marcus Williams has NO idea what to do. Â EDIT: UConns not winning this game. I was blinded by it by bias, but there just clueless out there, and got by UCF on pure talent.
Bored Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 Fun fact, since the tournament expanded to 64 teams in 1985, coming into this year, #10 seed beat the #7 seed 40% of the time (32-48). But when the #10 seed has played the #2 seed in the second round they have won 44.8% of the time (13-16). It's strange as even though the #7 seed advances 60% of the time in the first round they only beat the #2 seed 25.5% of the time (12-35), although West Virginia did pull it off last night.
Damaramu Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 YES! I picked this as a second round upset! Please let my upset work!
Damaramu Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 This shit is getting crazy. I can't watch it b/c I'm at work but from the play by play it looks like NCState is fouling with the lead. What the hell are they doing out there?
mike546 Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 FUCK!! Â FUCK! Â Oh well, its Marcus Williams time.
Exslade ZX Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 Fucking YES. Â That simple. The ACC is taking over.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 Most ridiculous 8 seconds in recent memory. ACC Player of the year indeed.
CanadianChris Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 Wow. What a fucking great tournament this is. Â WOLFPACK~!
sfaJack Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 How about 3 of the 3 seeds and 2 of the 2 seeds being out BEFORE the sweet 16? Who had that in their bracket?
Exslade ZX Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 These upsets are getting old Heh..but it's gonna be great/weird when the Final four is like a 10 seed, 14 seed, 8 seed, and 11 seed or something crazy like that. Â Although that won't happen because Duke's getting in. >_>
Damaramu Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 Yes HAHA! My upset came true! and the ACC isn't taking shit over. I have to think up a new final four though. May be something like OSU, UW, UNC, and Kentucky or some other surprise team out of that bracket b/c it sucks.
mike546 Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 Well, it was a great season. I kinda knew they were struggling, but I put it behind me for the fact I see ESPN announcers everyday telling me they've got a chance to win the whole thing. Realistically, there really young. If they all come back, I honestly see them being a dominant team next year. Â Oh, and major props to Marcus Williams. The guy was flat out amazing today, and carried the team on his shoulders. His progression from the first game to today is amazing. I REALLY hope they all come back next year, they'll dominate.
bob_barron Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 These upsets are getting old Heh..but it's gonna be great/weird when the Final four is like a 10 seed, 14 seed, 8 seed, and 11 seed or something crazy like that. Â Although that won't happen because Duke's getting in. I hate the word heh with a passion. Â I still have 3/4 of my final 4, 6/8 of my elite 8 teams left- but my Sweet 16 is getting decimated. I only have 9/16 of my sweet 16 teams left.
tpww7 Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 Still that was a clear offensive foul by NC State with a minute left that led to that 3.
Vern Gagne Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 These upsets are getting old Couldn't agree with you more. This is gonna come back to bite the tourney in the ass, when North Carolina or Illinois gets to play some #4. seed in the Championship game, and wins easily.
smh810 Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 Damn it Nova is playing great defense and the Gators forgot how to play D since halfway through the second half against Ohio. I will admit to underrating Nova defensively.
mike546 Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 Still that was a clear offensive foul by NC State with a minute left that led to that 3. True. Â And there were a ton of HORRIBLE calls on out of bounds calls. Atleast three. Â But it doesn't matter, UConn played lazy, stupid, and retarded for too long in the 2nd half. Same thing happened in the 1st game, this time it bit them in the ass.
Damaramu Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 Damn it Nova is playing great defense and the Gators forgot how to play D since halfway through the second half against Ohio. I will admit to underrating Nova defensively. I have Nova in this game.
Damaramu Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 What the hell is OSU doing out there? Fouls and shitty defense and shooting! Don't let then penetrate!
smh810 Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 I only wish Roberson could even come close to David Lee's intensity right now.
Guest Evolution Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 Happy about Villanova winning since I need something good to happen to my bracket, very unhappy about OSU losing since I actually had them going to the championship game and losing to UNC, don't really care about Vermont and Michigan State, and I don't really like how close Iowa State is hanging around with UNC.
Slayer Posted March 20, 2005 Author Report Posted March 20, 2005 Any #2 seeds want to go to the Sweet 16?
