South Park Writer Gets First Feature Film

Paramount has snapped up college comedy spec "Senior Week" from Erica Rivinoja, setting it up for Lorne Michaels to produce. Story centers on a hard-working collegian who learns he won't be the class valedictorian and decides to spend his last week at school living the life he's missed for the past four years. Rivinoja developed "Senior Week" with Pam Brady ("South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut," "Team America"), and the project is a potential first-time directing vehicle for Brady.

 

Let's see how she does without Matt and Trey writing and producing beside her. The premise doesn't look too great, and the college movie has been done to death in the past 7-8 years. Pam Brady is supposed to be the next "breakout" comedy writer and director/producer, in the mold of Tina Fey.

It's been done to death but there's always a fresh line-up of college kids willing to get high and watch them. H & K Go To White Castle didn't do tremendous in theatres, but the DVD sales have been huge.

 

I think it could be a fun movie.

Alot of good movies, would likely sound bad or not very promising if described in form of a basic one or two sentence premise.

 

The premise will look alot better, if it gets a good script.

No because Marti Noxon, who created Point Pleasant, isn't that good of a writer. Her show kind of sucks.
