JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2005 Yes, it was on March 26, 2001 that the wrestling world changed as the final WCW Nitro aired. In honor of this day I thought I'd start a thread where people could mention their favorite moments from WCW Nitro (since we usually bash WCW) from 1995-2001, whether it be matches, segments, announcers comments, or whatever. I'll start by mentioning a Nitro from 1997 during the DDP/Savage feud. Savage is wrestling La Parka when BANG! Diamond cutter by La Parka! La Parka takes off his mask to reveal DDP. Schiavone: THAT'S NOT LA PARKA! And DDP gets the three count. Crazy stuff building to their Bash at the Beach tag match. It's always been a personal favorite Nitro moment of mine. Yours? The Buzz 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2005 The whole is Sting gonna stay with wcw, join the wolfpac, or the nwo angle was interesting to me. Anytime the Warrior appeared on Nitro I enjoyed it for some reason.... The cruiser matches were always good. The initial start of the nWo angle. Benoit vs Sting-World Title(from Sting's heel run as champion) Storm vs Sting-World Title(from the same time period) Raven's promos
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2005 Chavo Guerrero: Amway Salesman Pops interpupting The Artist Formerly Known as Prince Iaukea's press conference, which will go down as the least funny and most nonsensical skit in wrestling history if not all history

cawthon777 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2005 Benoit vs Sting-World Title(from Sting's heel run as champion) Storm vs Sting-World Title(from the same time period) That can't be right. Storm didn't show up until the summer of 2000. My favorite moments ... Seeing Luger show up during the first telecast and challenge Hogan for the following week. That set the tone right there for an "anything can happen" type atmosphere. The early Benoit / Guerrero / Malenko appearances. The month that Nitro was outdoors at Disney MGM. The nWo had just started and I liked that environment, even if the fans didn't know Sting from Scott Hall. Bischoff's heel turn right before WW3 96. I used to have that on tape, wish I still did. Nash alludes to something big going down during the whole show. Bischoff closes the broadcast by doing an in-ring promo on how he can't get in touch with Piper. Piper shows up out of nowhere and calls Bischoff out, labeling him a liar. The nWo shows up, Piper gets beat down, and Hogan hugs Bischoff. Wow. Loved it. Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2005 Jericho's entire curiserweight run. A heel, going over clean just about every week *GASP!* YOU CAN DO THAT?! Taking prizes off the wrestlers he beat. His feud with Malenko was some of the best stuff WCW's ever done.
BUTT 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2005 I always loved Spring Break Nitro. It was nice to get a different atmosphere once in a while. I'd like to see WWE do something like that, although I know it wouldn't be practical at all to actually do it. I liked how every year, somebody always went into the water. My favorite was in '99, when I waited all night hoping someone would go into the pool. Right at the end, just as I had given up hope, Rey Mysterio sends Ric Flair into the pool. A markout moment, for sure.
Gary Floyd 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2005 I actually got a little misty eyed during the last Nitro. It wasn't just because I was going to miss it (inspite of all of the bad decisions made), but also because it was hard to believe it was all over.
