Indianapolis, March 29 - Carol Helmus and her family got a big shock during their visit to the Canal Walk Tuesday afternoon, where vandals defaced public property. "We've been here a few times and never seen anything like this but it's a shame, said Helmus.

Investigators believe the suspects hit the canal walls with spray paint late Monday night or early Tuesday morning.  They sprayed names, symbols and even profanities against President Bush at the congressional medal of honor memorial.  What's worse is the damage to the two glass memorial panels which will cost thousands of dollars to repair.

The panels contain the names of soldiers, their rank and tour of duty.  Police put up caution tape to keep people away from the broken glass.

"It's really a memorial about individuals and their courage. For someone to deface it is the biggest act of cowardness I can imagine," said spokesperson Susan Hanafee.

Totally pointless thing to do. Indiana's the coolest.

Susan Hanafee apparently doesn't have much of an imagination. I can think of 10 things WAY more cowardly than that.

3x post FURIOUS COMBO. Great!

Give it a moment, someone WILL come in and defend their actions as "a reasonable protest against a oppressive government! These people are freedom fighters!"

And you should have went for the four post combo, you could have had the knockout.

I'd like the think the thrashing he got last time he posted would've been enough to keep him away. I doubt it, but we can hope.

Dammit, let me dream.

We need his return, it made the place fun.

You don't know what you got, till it's gone.

Hey, I'm the one saying it probably didn't work. Your dream is safe. :)

Like crashing commercial jet airliners into buildings and dying in the process before there is a chance to exact retribution?

That's like a boxing match where Tyson gets a cheap shot in on Holyfield, who is in the corner still getting prepped, and then biting his ear off and running to the parking garage and taking off in a limo before Holyfield has a chance to hit him back.
