Guest PlatinumBoy Report post Posted March 30, 2005 Here's a question for those in the know. I've looked at Marvel's pay scheme for Epic and stuff, but how much do the tippy top writers for Marvel/DC make? Your Frank Millers, Grant Morrisons, Neil Gaimans and the like. I got into a big argument with a buddy about this, as I said being a Marvel/DC writer is one of my "dream jobs" and he commented that it can't pay well at all. My guess that I told him is that based on the Epic pay scheme, if your a top guy at one of the two companies writing two decently selling titles, your probably making six figures before taxes. Anyone have any clue? Edited to say: More people need to read the Beta Ray Bill comic. Oeming rocks. Also--who thought it was a good idea to make a Jubilee comic?!? Edited a second time: After reading the DC one... Batman has dropped, I thought anything Batman used to be 80,000+. Also, Mad Magazine only sells 2,500 issues a month? That's horrible. Granted it sucks compared to how it was in it's hey day. 50's, 60's Mad was great, but it's a pretty famous humor mag. More people read Bob Barron's SNL Reviews than read Mad it seems. pochorenella 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2005 Great read, Sass. Just as well since I use to check Diamondcomics.com for my monthly fix for Comic Book sales charts and I've been unable to make the link work for the past month.
