Even though they hate their homeland, I listen to Green Day. And anyone that voted to Bush would have to be an American idiot.

 

I still don't get the pseudo-outrage over Billie Joe expressing his terroristic beliefs at one of his shows, though...

I've never been a huge fan of Green Day, but they did what they did, i.e. slightly punky pop, OK I guess. I don't see how they get all this recognition for an album full of awful songs with really simple politics interjected. The title track flat out sucks, and may be their worst song. "Holiday in Cambodia" has 10 times more bite than this whole overrated album put together.

anyhow Greend Day gets my props for making a song like that, even if It meant very little to the USA. At least the song is good.

It's definitely a good song, but it's not my favorite song from the album.

As a stuck-up 'yeah I was into them when I was 12' type, I'll say I thought 'Buddha of Suburbia' was quite good, and the album sounded better than their recent efforts overall.
