OaO Baseball Tonight Sucks Thread

Why the hell should they be wearing a jersey, of a team they're no longer playing for? Just show up in street clothes, get your ring and be done with it.

This ceremony was about the 2004 Boston Red Sox not the 2005 but the 2004 Boston Red Sox, I have no issue with them wearing a jersey for the the team they PREVIOUSLY represented the prior year in a World series ring ceremony. Dont take it from me though Tommy Lasorda didnt care about it either.

Is this even common, for a player no longer on the team, to be involved in the ring ceremony?

I remember Jeff Nelson wearing his Mariner jersey when he was presented with a World Series ring from the Yankees. So yeah, it was a bit different.

Rick Sutcliffe sucks. during the yanks sox yesterday he (and to a lesser extent berman) was on a mission to verbally make love to curt schilling, I have never heard so much praise for one player. and he had plenty of contardictions.

ex: When he came out for the 6th, RS said its ok Schiling routinely throws over 100 picthes. then we he got rocked, sut then said well you knwo the yanksees are going to score runs. It woulda ppear that he was going out of his way to make excuses for Curt losing the game. JESUS H CHRIST

oh no its 4 time to see another game one espn (cant afford the extra innings deal right now so im stuck) with these great announcers

and I agree that they spend too much time on the rivalry, and this is coming from a hardcore Yanks fan

Collective Soul? Hey ESPN sure knows how to bring in that teenage audience! Or at lease those of us who were teenagers in 1993.

ESPN just pisses me off these days. The anchors are just way too interested in getting themselves and their catch phrases over instead of actually doing their job.

Idea: Just sorta half ass watch the show, it works for me. I am looking at the comp, listening to music, whatever. I just note the scores and don't really listen to the announcers.

I used to watch ESPNews but it seems the same stupidity is starting to infect that channel.

Might I add that ESPN Classic has completely gone down the shitter in the last couple of months. Classic games have suddenly almost completely disappeared from the channel and when they do show them it's usually in the condensed one hour "Drive Thru" show. They are now showing on a regular basis those awful "Who's #1?" countdown shows from last year. Also I actually like Cheap Seats but does there have to be a marathon every weekend? Other than that it's the same SportsCenturies and NFL Yearbooks over and over again. They are just pissing that channel away.

They've kind of brought boxing back on Classics which is good but they've really screwed that channel up. It was awful last year when October was nothing but a Yankees/Sox lovefest. The movies are annoying too. They don't show wrestling anymore either.

I don't hate blacks. Just Stuart Scott

Please, he hasn't been black since the 80s.
