Well, this whole Eddie thing has to go somewhere eventually and the only plausible place is him turning heel. It's somewhat problematic though considering they'd do it so he can face Cena for the title (at least I'm ASSUMING there's some grand scheme here) but I think deep down Eddie is more over than Cena. Also, Eddie's brief feud with Cena was one of the few times Cena was ever a compelling in ring performer.

 

Storywise doesn't Eddie have a hell of a lot to turn heel over? The guy has been fucked over so bad the past year it's not even funny, from getting screwed out of the title against a total bum like Bradshaw, to being ripped off in every feud he's been in since, and now his tag partner is giving him shit.

 

Thing is, I think the crowd might no sell it if Eddie turns heel. They certainly did when he tried to on Tajiri. Rey is much more over than Tajiri however.

If they fully want to turn him heel they have to go all out.

 

No more low-rider enterance, no more playing to the crowd. Bring back the heel of 1997 where eddy had no joy in his face and hated everyone and showed it.

 

No more cheating to win in the funny comic ways but the evil rudo ways of old. Grow out the hair.

 

It can be done but it cant be half-assed because when they tried to turn him last time all he did was cheat against other faces like tajiri and benoit.

 

It has to be a total change or progression in his character.

I think they are really pushing Rey Mysterio to Main Event level. He has beaten Eddie Guerrero, owned others opponents in the ring and he actually would have beat JBL if Eddie didn't interfere....so Mysterio = next WWE Champion

Rey Mysterio would be a very...unique...WWE Champion.

 

He'd have more of an underdog feel to him than Shawn Michaels ever did as WWF Champion.

 

But I think Mysterio should be given the US Title first, see how he runs with that, before getting a chance to run with the WWE Title.

Rey with the WWE title is a bad idea. The guy is just too small to be belieavable at that level. I'm not sure why they are jobbing Eddie out to him to this degree unless it is to turn Eddie heel, because a main event Rey push isn't a real viable idea. It'd be kinda interesting to see an RVD/Rey WWE title match though.
