Mike if you don't find anything worth your while in this folder...maybe...just don't post in here.

Oh, the one thing you don't need here is fewer posters...

Like I go into the Puroresu folder and say "how dare you post new about japan wrestling! You're just doing that to save the folder."

Considering how much activity suddenly popped up here when the mods, rightly, decided to merge this board with another, not really a stretch.

However, I'd love to see you defend Jeff as less than the worst "World Champion" in the business on that board...

Definitely helped Petey become a name and is helping Daniels establish himself as a top star. Also helped Style maintain "champion" status.

I disagree that the belt made Petey a name anymore than his finisher did. And Daniels was already a top star before the title. Styles? Styles was helped with the first reign --- but has not been helped since.

All I got to say about this ppv is that I think its either going to be real good or real bad, there probably isnt going to be any in between. If they eliminate the cage gimmick until this time next year (that is if TNA is around til then) I dont think this is such a bad idea in retrospect. When they first announced the all cage format, I was totally baffled, but I am willing to give it a chance to see what happens. This is a really good excuse for everyone involved in the company to really turn up the creative juices up a notch to make each match different and unique. Question is if they recognize this situation they put themselves in. Plus Rhodes as booker is really on thin ice right now so he is either going to actually produce something good from his booking or else really go downhill on this show, I would imagine.

:D I'd love to!

And i agree that williams finisher would be what helped him get over the most. Although i think he got a rub from the X title as well.

It really blows that they put all the matches in cages.

Not just because it's bloody stupid...but because the lineup is better off without them.

Daniels vs. Skipper, AMW vs. Team Canada (already a proven winner), Dutt vs. Shane vs. Shocker vs. Sabin and Styles vs. Abyss in a cage would have made for 4 potentialy good matches.

Now they're all in a cage. For...no...reason.

I agree. This was probably going to be the first show that I'd ordered since Turning Point, mostly because I enjoyed the early build for Skipper/Daniels, and I though that Abyss/Styles and AMW/Team Canada would all deliver big matches. But I don't think I wanna see eight cage matches. I'll see how the reviews sound and consider catching a replay, though I might just wait and order the Against All Odds DVD so I can see the iron man match.

They're in a REALLY tough month with Wrestlemania, UFC, Pride and Backlash next week.

It has a lot of potential to be an entertaining show. I just blew 30 bucks on a dissapointing Pride, and I'm going back to school tommorow with no PPV so I won't be ordering it.

Here's Dave Meltzer's preview for those interested:

TNA Lockdown features eight cage matches:

*Apolo vs. Lance Hoyt - Apolo is the one being pushed so he should go over

*Sonjay Dutt vs. Chris Sabin vs. Michael Shane vs. Shocker with the winner getting an X Division title shot in escape the cage rules. On the surface, Shocker should go over, since Dusty wants to make a star out of him. However, he's supposed to main event TripleMania, which is the same night as TNA's next PPV. That probably makes Shane the favorite as Rhodes has been wanting to do something with him as a single

*Dustin Rhodes vs. Bobby Roode in a Prince of Darkness match. Yes, they are doing the worked blindfold gimmick, which makes for easy matches on the body, but horrible for fans who want action.

*Jeff Hardy vs. Raven in a tables match. Raven is on the shit list after the Dustin series, so Jeff is the likely winner

*AMW vs. Eric Young & Petey Williams for the tag titles. Well, the effort should be there. They have a pretty high standard to live up to because AMW's last PPV cage match was ridiculously good, and their last title match with Team Canada was one of the best matches of the year.

*Christopher Daniels vs. Elix Skipper for the X division title. Skipper is hit and miss, but Daniels is the best guy on the roster to have a match with him. Should be good, might be great

*Jeff Jarrett & The Outlaw & Monty Brown vs. DDP & Sean Waltman and the dreaded mystery partner (Kevin Nash is out, although he is supposed to be there) in a War Games style one person after another comes in 2:00 intervals type of deal

*A.J. Styles vs. Abyss, winner faces Jarrett on 5/15 for the title.

The 8 cage matches sound redundant, but on paper, this is a lot stronger line-up than last month.

Yeah, I'm ordering this PPV.

Quite a debut for El Tuck II.

I believe you're referring to an event that has not taken place.
