Buffy the Vampire Slayer

The line is death is with Faith now...even though Buffy died in season 5 there won't be another slayer till Faith dies.

Faith technicaly replaced Kendra as soon as she died...she came in early in season 3.

She's still alive...did 2 episodes in season 4 with the possibility to come back later.

Adam was a part man part machine part demon thing that was a science experiment gone wrong...that's where Buffy channeled the power of past slayers to defeat him.

Faith is in prison doing ALOT of time. (As seen on the Angel episodes). She won't be out anytime soon(if ever ELiza has a pretty big schedule and the show looks as though it could be ending soon.)

Anyways, about season seven being a trip back to season one. It could be a chance to see "lost" episodes of BtVS. Like...the children of the She-Mantis, the origin of the Master(who turned him, who he was in life), more info on the origin of the Slayer, new villians who could actually be old villians, A Day In The Life Of A Vampire(an idea I had about what a vampire does and feels after being created), more vampire villians, ect al.

Interesting ideas, but I think tt's much better for a show of this caliber to blaze forward, rather than dwell in the past. It shows a lack of creativity (especially since we no that's not the case with Joss).

I thought I read somewhere (might have even been here) that Season 7 is going to take place in England and rumors even went as far as Britney Spears being involved with the Big bad (though not actually Big Bad)

Who knows?

Yeah, I have heard that a few episodes may take place over in England.

As for the Britney rumor, I'm sure it will stay as just that- a rumor.

The number 1 worry I have is that after all of the bitching and moaning that this season got (I stand by my statement that this was a great season) about being too dark and stuff, is that they are going to be trying to recapture the old stuff or something. That NEVER works. I don't want to see rehashed plots, (why are they rebuilding the highschool over the hellmouth...and if there isn't a sunnydale high, where the hell has Dawn been going??) and all happy happy joy. The theme of the show has always been dark and I really hope joss gives all the critics a big "Fuck OFF" and does what he wants and doesnt' try to apease them.

BTW, has anyone seen all the flak that he is getting for killing off Tara. I have read basically all the article concerning it, and I must say it is the single most ridiculous thing that I have heard. They have been saying that Tara dying was some type of statement against homosexuality(despite the fact that over the past 3 years they have had the realest relationship on the show, and to the point that I didn't even notice the whole gay thing) and mysogonistic and such. They are stageing boycotts of the show and its products, and have been writing in to the network in mass about how insulting it was. What really pisses me off is that people that don't even watch the show but are head of Gay and Lesbian Alliances are coming out bashing him, without seeing any of the buildup or such.

I was a bigger fan of Tara/Willow than you will find this side of Straightville, and as sad as I am to see it end, I also know that it was a inevitable end. Eventually, something was going to set Willow off, and I knew that it would involve Tara. people are acting like Joss is a evil evil man. One quote said (and I'm parahprasing)

"On Weddons show, the only homosexual characters, Larry and Tara, were both killed grusomely. All of the minority characters Kedra, Mr. Trick, the guidence counceler and Forrest, were also all killed. I always knew that Buffy lived on a hellmouth, I never knew she lived in Klan Country"

That whole thing pissed me off to no end. Hopefully, Whedon doens't let this crap get to him and start doing things to quiet the rumblings.

Oh yes Ripper, I was over at the Bronze when everybody got on Joss' case about Tara. He found it offensive that people were saying he couldn't kill her because she was gay. I totally agree with him.

I read an article at some Sci Fi site about how he is somehow against minorities. It was such complete bullshit.

Well, the ballots for the Emmys "accidentally" had OMWF left off. The committee is sending out post cards to say basically "Oops, if you want to vote for it, do it here" so the show is pretty much has no chance of winning a Emmy for quite possibly the best hour of television in years.

I believe the episode was just left off for best writing. The show still appeared on the ballot for best drama, and Sarah was on as well, I think. Nonetheless though, it's pure fuckin' bullshit.

I saw a short clip of Joss at some awards show a few days ago, and he said Britney was in fact going to guest star this coming season.

I just finished the Season 2 set and I am just in awe in how amazing it was.  It was damn close to flawless as a TV series can get.  Character development, plots, themes... everything was just excellent.  I have many favorite episodes and parts... but one thing that stuck out for me were the references to the Mayor (He was one bad-ass dude) and references to the first season (Oz talking about how the trophy's eyes follow you... Xander talking about being a Hyena, etc...).  Soon I'm going back and watching the commentary...

I agree. Season 2 rules! I love the build-up of the Mayor as well, by Principle Snyder and the Police Dectective, until Synder finally says "Well, we are living on the hellmouth!!" :)

I can't wait for Season Three to come out on DVD this winter!

I can't wait either. I want ALL the seasons on DVD, RIGHT NOW (including the Angel seasons), so that I can finally watch the first-run episodes along with everyone else, and actually understand everything that's going on.

Damn. I had always wanted to watch the show from the very beginning, but I had to work on those nights when the show was broadcast, then after I switched to an earlier shift, I attended school, and my VCR was broken! Aaargh!!!

Anyway, I want to discuss the first two seasons, but I don't want to chance reading spoilers for the later episodes. Maybe I should start a new topic?

Yeah, this whole thing is BS. If Joss didn't like lesbians than he would have never made a character like Tara and kept her around for three years. Also, saying he is a mysoginist is also messed up because the strongest character, Buffy, is a woman.

More than that, All the women characters have had some power of some sort. Giles and Xander have been basically on the outs and Angel and Spike were/are actually evil. Mysoginistic my ass.

And yeah, Joss was left off the best writing for the show, which I think was the shows best chance of winning anything. I mean, he wrote and arranged every song on the show and is basically without a chance to win for it.

Yeah, I think starting a new thread for it would be a good idea, because you will get the spoilage in this one.

I think it would be cool if FX started showing Angel reruns.

"I hope she fries, I'm free if that bitch dies--I better help her out"

Haha, I love that line. Watching "Once More With Feeling Right Now", by the way.

Man, they really hacked that show up to fit time constraints. How long was the overrun when it was originally shown?

About 15 minutes...glad I recorded it the first night it aired so I didn't get the cut for time version.

Best show of the year for ANY show

A musical episode that actually moved some storylines forward.

What a concept.

Hell of a lot better than the pathetic That 70s Show "rock opera" where half the actors couldn't sing.

Yeah, I'm pissed. I wasn't watching the show when it came on the first time, so I get all psyched to record it last night and the thing is hacked into peices. I don't think it was nearly as effective. I have the show on computer but it is only a 320x240 mpeg, and is crappy quality. The entire show was SO much better. They cut out a lot of jokes and entire verses in some of the songs last night. UGHH!!! Now I have to wait (at the rate we are going in the US) until 2010 when it comes out on DVD to get it.

Yeah, I remember watching the episode for the second time when they reaired it during the regular season. They cut a bunch of stuff.

My tape of the full length version is showing some wear. Some folks have the DVD of the ep up for auction on eBay.

I guess I'm in the minority here when I say I thought the musical SUCKED.

If this show has a real "jump the shark" moment, it's that one.

The Entire episode is great, but that cut down one they showed the other night had horrible pacing, some parts didn't make sense...it was just horrible. If they were going to show it, they should've just have done the whole thing. But when the whole show is there, and you look at the lyrics as lines and what they are saying, it is just like any other good show.

So, let's discuss seasons. What was everyone's THREE favorite seasons? For me it was the first, second, and third.

I have to say 2, 5, and 3 (with season 6 right there with season 3...its almost a tie.)

Eh, season five had Dracula and Dawn. They kind of lowered my rating on the season.

Geez, Dracula was just in one show...and Dawn was GREAT in that year...I don't care what anyone says. Great acting, great shows. And arguably the best Buffy Big Bad ever in Glory. The only thing that detracted from season 5 to me was that non acting peice of shit that played ben. You would have Clare Kramer give a Emmy deserving 5 minutes of dialouge and then this guy that would make Keanu Reeves cringe starts delivering lines in the most horrible fashion ever. Just bad...BAD.

True, but the Dracula episode was the ONLY Buffy episode I didn't like...EVER.
