Guest Risk Report post Posted May 16, 2002 The X-Files and MASH have been on in the usual Buffy FX timeslot, what time are the Buffy reruns on now? I think this is the perfect time for an Oz return. He and Willow still have a connection, plus, he can probably sense the magic energy, being a supernatural creature himself. An Oz return would rule!
Guest Ripper Report post Posted May 16, 2002 the only way I would want to see Oz is if he suffers a quick and heartless death at the hands of Willow. Not that I have nothing against Oz, but it would be incocievable that Buffy, willow, xander and others couldn't talk her down but some guy that dumped her years ago would. I think you can eaisly say that she is over Oz. When she lost Oz, it was kinda like that highschool, I lost first love kinda mourning over it. When she and Tara broke up, it looked more like really real heart break. I know that most people didn't like their relationship as much, but Tara offered a little more than abunch of funny quips and calmness. She showed more emotion. Oz showed the same excitement about fish sticks in the cafeteria as he did about Willow entering a room. Outside of a few moments, he never showed Willow any real emotion. Tara on the other hand was always offering effection, and emotion. I think their relationship was a little more "grown up" I think it would be too much of a reach for Oz to make a difference. I would love to see her give him a "What do you think. You would show up and I'd forget all about Tara??" then BAM!! no more Oz. How many times did willow call Oz her everything, or her light? Tara was her true love, and it has set her off. Psycho willow RULEZ!!!
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted May 16, 2002 I was thinkin aboot Oz. Know what would be kool? If Oz and Zander were the 'other two'. As in the other two men who played a big role in her life...her other two loves. Any thoughts?
Guest LaParkaMarka Report post Posted May 16, 2002 Nah, it wouldn't be Xander and Oz...otherwise Dark Willow would have rocked Xander's pasty non-Dark ass right there instead of disappearing. It seems too simple for her to go after the two remaining Trio members though. I guess killing them would cement her as "evil" though. Especially if she offed Jonathan. Who else could be the "other two" then? Maybe the dude who assisted Warren last ep, and some other person who helped Warren out?
Guest Risk Report post Posted May 16, 2002 I DIDN'T mean an Oz/Willow relationship. I just meant this would be a good time for him to return, since he is a supernatural creature too. Say what you will, but Oz was Willow's first love(I don't count Xander)and the first and only guy she made love with. It is clear Willow CAN be attracted to guys, but I wouldn't call her a "lesbian." The ONLY girl she loved was Tara...now she's dead. There goes the whole lesbian thing. I REALLY doupt Willow would want other woman in the future, even if she does turn evil. Buffy, Xander, AND Oz might be able to stop her. The highschool Scobby Gang, it MAY be her only hope. I DON'T want to see Oz and Willow suddenly get back together, that would be crazy. Just have Oz be a semi-regular character. I already have ideas. He could live in the woods of Sunnydale, with only a tent, supplies, and a guitar. Living off the land, a vagabond until his return, helping people with his now fully in control Wolf transformation. Plus EVIL~! Willow will EVENTUALLY come in contact with him, Joss would never pass up that idea.
Guest Ripper Report post Posted May 23, 2002 Well, now that Greg the bunny has been cancelled, I would like to see Oz back a few times in the final season. But Willow should NEVER, and I MEAN NEVER date again if they want the show to be realistic. it should take years to get over seeing tara shot and filleting the guy that shot her, so until this show ends, i don't want to see no Willow lovin'. NONE.
Guest Risk Report post Posted May 23, 2002 Yep. Willow is now, officalially, a Nosexual.
Guest Risk Report post Posted May 23, 2002 Or...maybe Joss can have Oz show up for maybe three straight episodes, then leave, and have his own show. Seth Green is loved by Buffy and Angel fans, they would watch, trust me on that. I'm pretty sure Joss wants to do more with the character. Plus, it could have cool music, since Oz does the whole music thing. I think Metallica's "Wherever I may Roam" would be a good theme.
Guest Ripper Report post Posted May 23, 2002 The only thing that made Oz likable was his stark contrast to the rest of the cast. His one word sentences, short comical statements, in contrast to hoppy, hyer active Willow is what made his character so likeable. I was watching the season 4 rerun when he poped in on Willow and he was about half as likeable. ~INTENSE~ Oz(in the scene where he is all grabby with Tara) isn't nearly as fun to watch. Serious, long sentence using Oz is kinda...well....kinda bleh. And Willow was out of her nerdy/hoppy stage...he didn't contrast as much. The character of Oz just didn't fit as well anymore. I said all that to say this. His character only worked in small doses when he was snarky, don't talk to much guy. That is not someone to headline a show. I'm all for sticking him on Angel...not loving that Gunn is the resident smartass, as he would be a great addition to the team with Gru's leaving(whoo-hoo!!!) Lorene's moving to Vegas(~sniff~) Wesley's eeeevil turn and Cordillias accention(don't get me started on this). They will need a little more cast to keep the show going. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted May 24, 2002 Gru's leaving(whoo-hoo!!! Lorene's moving to Vegas(~sniff~) Wesley's eeeevil turn and Cordillias accention(don't get me started on this). They will need a little more cast to keep the show going. DUDE! What are you talkin bout? Did I miss somethin? And lets get started on Cordillias ascension. IT FUCKING SUCKS! Mystic/Wise Cordy isn't half as fun as non-mystic/non-wise Cordy. There is no trace of that Cordy left and it SEEEEE-UCKS! BAH! I like Gru... He is so dopey.... Do you think Wes will go evil/anti-Angel? Oz would be neat for a bit player on Angel, not a horsemen (yeah that’s ree-ight, I called Angel, Cordy, Gunn and Fred the horsemen, you besta recognize), but a Lorene-like character would be fine and dandy. But this whole Oz thing is a fun idea... Who WOULD be the best spin-off character from the Buffy/Angel series? (You better not say Spike) I wouldn't mind seeing a Giles-related show, soley on the fact that I am a Giles mark. Call it 'The Watcher' and you could have some flashbacks to his past, since it seems to be a storied one.
Guest Risk Report post Posted May 24, 2002 They are in talk to start a Giles show called "Watcher." The idea might have been nixed, though.
Guest Risk Report post Posted May 24, 2002 BTW, I missed the whole third season of Angel because of RAW(damn them). When are reruns on?
Guest Ozymandias Report post Posted May 24, 2002 "Watcher" was supposed to happen a year ago, God knows if it ever will. But yeah, Giles would be the best character to have his own show. I'm assuming that Angel will stay on the air after Buffy's next/last season. If so, they should move Spike to Angel. Those 2 are GREAT together.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted May 24, 2002 No fuckin shit... Spike is a foil to Angel...or at least was. Now that he has a soul as well, it seems that they are almost the same character. Of course, they both handle it differently, Angel searching for redemption for all the wrong he had done, Spike searching for a way to get back to his evil ways. A yin/yang situation. In any case their characters overlap too much for them to be able to share the same screen for a long period of time. Spike is Angels only connection to the 'good ole days'. Now that Darla, that other chick, and Holtz are dead. It would be an interesting one-time conversation, but anything more than that would not be all that good IMO. Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted May 24, 2002 Just knowing that Britney Spears will be on 6 freaking episodes next year has me thinking to things: 1) WORST. SEASON. EVER. and 2) LAST.SEASON.EVER.
Guest Report post Posted May 24, 2002 The thing with Britney is far from confirmed or anything. Just bullshiz, I'm assuming. Just think about it for a minute? Six episodes? I don't think that girl has time in her schedule for that. The Giles spinoff is in a held up state right now. Some problems with contracts, the BBC, and probably the main one, Joss' schedule. Fox just ordered up his new series, Firefly, for the fall schedule, so that will surely put Ripper/Watcher (whatever name they go with, though Whedon wants it to be Ripper) on hold for a while. Guest Ozymandias Report post Posted May 24, 2002 The Britney rumor is several years old, I don't see it as being any truer this time.
Guest Report post Posted May 24, 2002 According to Adam Busch (the guy who played Warren), Britney was actually set to play his robot in the episode "I Was Made To Love You" last season. Scheduling conflicts arose though.
Guest Ripper Report post Posted May 24, 2002 Yeah, she was...she cancelled at the last minute and they got a different(and cuter) girl to play the part. I would love to see Spike on Angel...just so I could get a little turn around going. I have never been candid about my love for the Angelus character. he was just so freekin evil. Have Angel do the bad thing, and Spike(being the souled vamp he apparently is now) be the guy to help Angel investigations try to bring him down. As for spin offs from Buffy, I really do think that Spike could be the only one. You know what I really want to see...A TV show where the Villian is the "hero" of the show and the Good Guys are the "villians" foiling his plan and all. Just make the bad guy the center fo the show. thats how I would like to see a show with Spike.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted May 24, 2002 Is Spike really a souled up vamp, or a human? Because the souled up vamp is Angels gimmick. But the Villian would still be a protagonest in a show like that... And therefore wouldn't really be a villian, but rather just someone in the villians spot. I don't think that would really be satisfying, it's sort of like Austins anti-hero.
Guest Report post Posted May 25, 2002 Is Spike really a souled up vamp, or a human? It will be interesting to see what they do with that. Joss was on the Bronze boards a few nights ago. Jokingly, he said something like "You think we'd do that again" (referring to a vamp with a soul). It was pretty funny because some of the posters took his goofy comments to heart. Guest Risk Report post Posted May 25, 2002 I at least hope the chip is out for good. That thing is really annoying me.
Guest Vyce Report post Posted May 27, 2002 BTW, I missed the whole third season of Angel because of RAW(damn them). When are reruns on? Oh. My. God. Dude, you missed the best season of Angel yet. It was BETTER than Buffy this year, of that I'm convinced. And I can most certainly tell you, it was better than RAW. I would usually watch Angel and tape RAW (or sometimes vice versa), and comparing the too, Angel has definitely been better.
Guest Ripper Report post Posted May 27, 2002 After watching Buffy bring everything together, making sense of every thing in the season, and having such a strong finish in comparison to the weak finish of Angel, I ended up likeing this years Buffy more than Angel. I am pretty sure I am a minority on that one.
Guest Report post Posted May 27, 2002 Yeah Ripper, the finale of Buffy kind of changed my overall view of the season a bit. Brought everything going on all season together.
Guest Risk Report post Posted May 30, 2002 Joss Whedon, unlike Vince McMahon, books longterm.
Guest Ripper Report post Posted May 30, 2002 And might I say that, I really underestimated season 4. It just finished up on FX and it was a damn fine year. It does hold true, even in its worst years,Buffy is still the shiot.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted May 30, 2002 Season 4.... Good in theory, bad in practice. It was needed...but it wasn't needed...you know? A transition season which set everything up but had the unfortunate distinction of being a transition season. Some things were really lame (Adam, Initiative, Witchy Willow, Wacky Supernatural Elements - Super Buffy) but it set up really good things from the bad (Spike, separation of the group, furthered character development while maintaining the lovable traits of the first few seasons, more introspection than the previous seasons) It set the stage for the Glory Saga, which was really a defining season for the 'legacy' of BTVS. Guest Ripper Report post Posted May 30, 2002 Yeah, but Adam was better than I remebered...a little over the top...but better than I remembered. Super Buffy was a little corney(and why wouldn't they do the same to fight Glory??) but was cool for effects sake. While I didn't like the Initiative, I kinda liked how the whole thing broke down and the Riley Forrest fight was hot. I have professed my love for witchy Willow and Tara before, so not much more can be said. The show from the begaining of the season up to the Intiative being a focal point was GREAT!!! Then it drug...then it got Damn good again after Maggie Walsh died. It was hit and miss, true, but when it hit, (start bad Zoolander impression) it was reeeally reeeally ridiculously good (end bad Zoolander impression)
