Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted February 27, 2002 Hell, I missed the entire episode. what happened?
Guest TheDames7 Report post Posted February 27, 2002 I've missed most of Angel this season. The last episode I saw was when Angel had a kid and Darla offed herself. Can someone please get me back up to speed? Dames
Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted February 27, 2002 Fred and Gunn have hooked up, while Wesley watches in envy. According to prophecy, Angel is going to kill his kid. Only Wesley knows this. Cordelia and Gru are an item, much to Angel's dismay...and that's about it.
Guest TheDames7 Report post Posted February 27, 2002 Who the hell is Gru and why does Angel care? Dames
Guest Ripper Report post Posted February 27, 2002 Gru is some guy with a sword and REALLY blue eyes(they are freakishly blue) and Angel has the hots for Cordy so he doesn't like them getting all lovey.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted February 27, 2002 He should just bone Cordy. He'll lose his soul, but it'd be worth it.
Guest perrinthewolf Report post Posted February 28, 2002 I know im in the minority here, but this season has been fine to me. The Buffy/Spike "relationship",Willow's addiction, and Xander/Anya's wedding have been high points. My only issue is the lack of a "Big Bad". The Nerds of Doom are great for comic releif, but the show needs a serious threat. JMO.
Guest Ripper Report post Posted February 28, 2002 I am extremely happy with this season...The only low point to me was the Double Meat Palace ep...that show sucked all to be damned. I vote that is worst show ever. But besides that, I really liked every show.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted February 28, 2002 I understand that this season is a transitional season, but it hasn't been that great IMO. The Buffy/Spike relationship is ok, Willows addiction is lame, but I guess needed if she is to be the bad guy for next season. Xander and Anyas wedding is approaching and something gotsta happen there. Every episode has been watchable so far, and they are definately needed. I think its safe to say that next season will be really something. (Am I the only one here who would like Glory to comeback... That would so rule and have Buffy Fucked up royal...) I wonder if the world of Angel will meet the world of buffy, since Angel is supposed to be the one who causes hell to rise and stuff, I think that would effect the other show, no? Guest Vyce Report post Posted March 3, 2002 Hmm....okay, the storyline for Angel this season is this (so far): It started off with 2 main plots - one is the emergence of Holtz, a vampire hunter from the past (200 years ago, I believe), who made a deal with Sahjan (a time demon) to be placed in a mystic sleep and awoken when the time was right (apparently, it's now) to kill Angel. Holtz hates Angel because back when he was Angelus, he killed his entire family. So far, we have no clue as to why Sahjan wants Angel dead, but we should be told soon enough. The other plot was that Darla was pregnant with Angel's baby. The ultimate resolution of that was that the baby was dying from being inside her, so in one act of true love and sacrifice, she killed herself to save the child (named Connor). So, then the storyline became: Holtz has severed his ties with Sahjan, and has been gathering an army of fellow humans who's families were killed by vampires. Angel is trying to raise his infant son, with his friends to help. He's also developed the steaming undies for Cordy (bought time!), but she's hooked up with the Groosalug, aka Groo, that other dimensional himbo. Also, Gunn & Fred have hooked up, which depresses Wesley even more than usual (and he does play a might solemn Brit ) And NOW the storyline is: Holtz and his army are just about ready to begin their assault upon Angel. Sahjan has teamed up with Lilah (from Wolfram & Hart) to take down Angel. And Wesley has discovered a prophecy that predicts Angel will destroy his own child, so to protect Connor, it appears that Wes will a) kidnap the child in order to protect him, and b) MIGHT sell Angel down the river to Holtz. This is why I think Angel is SO much better this season. There's just so much going on, most of it very well done and well written, with good acting. Buffy, eh, it's just there. Maybe it's a transitional season, but it's one that I've found difficult at times to get through. Am I the only one here who would like Glory to comeback... That would so rule and have Buffy Fucked up royal...) I liked the Glory storyline, but it's kind of run it's course. Besides, in one of my favorite moments of last season, Giles showed his dark side and killed Ben, so Glory can't come back without her human avatar. I wonder if the world of Angel will meet the world of buffy, since Angel is supposed to be the one who causes hell to rise and stuff, I think that would effect the other show, no? This is the bad thing about Buffy & Angel being on separate networks now....odds are, we'll never see another crossover show, especially since the WB still has sore feelings about Buffy defecting. Well, that's what you get when you treat one of your best shows like crap, they bail on you (if they can).
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted March 3, 2002 Yeah, but Glory is a frikken God and was Buffy's greatest challenge. The expression alone on Buffy's face would be worth bringing back Glory. Or have Glory get killed by Willow (who went back to magic to stop her), which would totally build up willow as the next big thing. Or have whoever is the next 'bad guy' to off Glory. Whatever. I salute you on the plot description, you are a better man than I.... So what do you (or anyone here) think is the time dudes motive is?
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 6, 2002 So...um...is Anya the big bad this year? Cause...that's interesting.
Guest Ripper Report post Posted March 7, 2002 That show was heart breaking. Xanders father is certainly a ass, and even though it was cold what he did, I can understand why. That toast that his father gave about "at least being married to her has kept me from getting the clap" was plain mean. And I don't think that Anya could ever do anything to Xander, even if she tried. Coincidentally, the rerun that came on FX that day was the one when Willow and Anya were arguing over him (the show with Olaf the Troll God) And it was Anya saying how she would never do anything to hurt him like turning him into a troll even if she had her powers. And it also reminded me of the fact that the Demon guy that makes Anya a demon also gave Willow a open chance to become a vengence demon(I think this will come into play later) Next weeks show looks REALLY good(and that was my idea about how they would end the show....Buffy went psycho after the LA school gym burning and just made up Sunnydale) but it appears that I was wrong. The show started off really hot at the beganing of the season, kinda dipped a little but it has definately gotten interesting in a short amount of time. Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 7, 2002 Yes. Next weeks show looks awesome.
Guest Ripper Report post Posted March 19, 2002 When I saw the previews I was expecting a pretty good show...instead I got in my opinion one of the best shows not only of the season, but of the shows history. When reading the other reviews of the show on the internet, and it got mixed reviews. Some hated it and some agreed with me. I can't help but believe that anyone that actually enjoys to think when watching television, had to have loved it. It was a wonderfully written show that gives a real world rational explaination to everything that Buffy is about. There have been alot of "IT WAS A DREAM ALL ALONG" shows, but this one made it believeable, made it standout from all the others.
Guest Vyce Report post Posted March 19, 2002 I never thought I'd say this: Star Trek did it better. The Ben Sisko "It was all a dream!" episode of DS9 was better than this episode of Buffy. It wasn't a bad episode....just mediocre, like the rest of the season has been.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 19, 2002 I enjoyed every moment of that episode. Very well done IMO. I thought the rationalizations that the doctor made Buffy come to about how crazy her sunnydale life was were brilliant. I only wish it had been the series finale. But I trust that Joss Whedon has something tremendous in store for that. The fact that it ends outside of the buffy reality is chilling to say the least. Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted March 19, 2002 I didn't catch the end. So was it all a hellucination or was it real? is she crazy? or what?
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 19, 2002 Well...the way it ends is with her saying goodbye to her mother in the institution and then excepting the sunnydale reality as being real and saving her friends. She then takes the antedote, which makes the institution reality go away. BUT. The final scene is a catatonic Buffy in the institution and the doctor telling her parents that they lost her back to her fake world. Pretty cool stuff. Guest Ripper Report post Posted March 19, 2002 I believe that this will be one of those seasons that everyone will have to wait till its in syndication to apreciate it for what it is. Everyone says that this has been a so-so season but lets look at it. 1: Bargining: This was a good opener for the season, and I was well satisfied. Nothing that will be etched into history as a amazing show but it is definatly above the average show. 2: Afterlife: very good followup to the last show. i really liked the monster for this show and had some real development there 3: Flooded. Had some great moments like the Giles/Willow argument but was a pretty average show. 4: Life Serial: I thought it was a funny and very enjoyable show. I can understand why some might not like it, but I really did. It showcased LOTS of Buffys trademark comedy that makes it a great show. 5: All the Way: I Liked this show. Alot of people don't really care for Dawn so its understandible that some don't like it. It was a average show, with parts that I really liked. 6: Once more with Feeling: If you did't love this show, you have some issues. Instantly goes into one of the best shows ever!! 7: Tabula Rasa: THis show was REALLY good in my eyes. It was hilarious and the acting was GREAT. 8: Smashed: I liked watching Willow going all Vader and embracing the Dark Side so I liked this show alot which made me love... 9: Wrecked: Pretty much like above, I loved it. 10: Gone: Average show with some cute parts but nothing spectacular. 11: Double Meat Palace: I hated this show. It was completely pointless in my eyes. this marked the first Buffy ep that I really hated. 12. Dead Things: Loved this show. Gave the 3 dorks a darker edge, and some great acting from everyone invovled. 13. Older and Farther away: I loved this show, too. It was cool watching Anya go a little psycho, some great Spike/Buffy interaction...I just really enjoyed the show. 14: As you were: Didn't like it...still don't like Riley...Although the final scene between Spike and Buffy made the show worth watching. 15: Hells Bells: if you have been in for the long haul, you probably loved the show...if you are a newcomer it probably holds less importance and will be a average show. To me, I loved it. I knew that happiness is a no-no on this show so I knew SOMETHING would happen, and the Anya might go demon again thing is great. 16: Normal Again: Has made my all time favorites list... I absolutely was glued to the screen for the entire time. I loved every second and loved the "What If " ending. And thats it so far. While it did hit a lull towards the middle, the begaining and the run its on now all has the makings of a #### good season.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 20, 2002 I like this season. It hasn't reached season 2 greatness... but it is better than most IMO. Although I like every stupid episode...because I am a Buffy mark...but oh well.
Guest TUS_02 Report post Posted March 20, 2002 I have become a huge Buffy fan in the short span of 4 months. I think I have most of the storylines down, but there are still a lot of episodes from all seasons (minus the first one that I haven't seen. But I'll get to them in due time. With all that said... I loved last weeks episode. I really liked the part where they made reference to her being dead in Sunnydale and how she "awoke" in the asylum world. I'm just glad there's so many other Buffy fans out there.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 20, 2002 The show is too good to be ignored. The writing is fantastic and the acting is top notch When you look at episodes like "Once More, With Feeling", "Hush", "Prophecy Girl"(is there better acting than Gellar's "I don't want to die speech?)"The Body", "Becoming parts 1&2", and SO many others...you start wondering why it keeps getting snubbed for Emmys.
Guest Ripper Report post Posted March 22, 2002 I think that I am the only person on earth that doesn't care for Prohecy girl too much. It had some good acting, but the ending...the acting was so over the top and the Master got beaten SO easily...after a whole season of talking about what would happen when he rose, he got out the sewer and got to stand on the roof of the school...thats it. He didn't go out with a bang. And Buffy was a little too catch phrase happy at the end(although the you have fruit punch mouth line owed all). It was kinda disappointing to me.... Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 23, 2002 I loved alot of parts of the episode. The "I don't want to die" speech Xander saving Buffy because Angel can't Buffy turning Xander down after he's been pining for her all year The prophecy actually coming true (didn't know how they'd pull that off) I thikn that Prophecy Girl is one of the better season finales you'll find on Tv...and certainly one of the best Buffy ones IMO. Guest Ripper Report post Posted March 25, 2002 Well, yeah, when put up against the rest of TV, it was pretty good. But I expect more from Buffy. It just doesn't hold up to Becoming pt. 2, Graduation pt. 2, Restless, and The Gift i my opinion. It was just a little too anticlimatic. Mayber a better fight getting put up by the master. He ,in the end, was nothing more than just like those other vamps that she was staking on a nightly basis. He just didn't seem as super powerful as he was cracked up to be.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 26, 2002 Graduation part 2 is one of my least favorite episodes. I thikn what I liked most about "Prophecy Girl" is that is hammered home the most important point of season 1. Being the Slayer is a very dangerous job. Without that episode...All of Season 1 was just Buffy hanging out with her friends...falling in love...and dispatching all evil effortlessly.
Guest Ripper Report post Posted March 26, 2002 I watched it again, and now I know why I didn't like it that much. It should have been a 2 parter. It just all went too quickly. If it had been stretced out a little longer it would have been better. It was still a good show though. Just not that great to me. I guess I can see how you might not like Graduation pt. 2, but after part one. nothing could much be to great following. I still think that Faith vs Buffy in pt one was the best fightin Buffy history...
