Any picks, predictions, notes?

I'm calling for Canada, The Czechs and the Swedes to take the podium.

Dany Heatley will be the tournament's leading scorer, and, I'm calling it here, Todd Bertuzzi will play when a forward gets hurt.

I would have to think ESPN 2 would have a few.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ... ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

ESPN might show the finals, if it's the US vs. someone, and there's no baseball or basketball to circle-jerk over.

Max, at least I can take a quick roadtrip to MTL, catch the games on TV.

I thought that would elicit more of a response.

So, see my new thread, but feel free to post IIHF WIHC stuff nyah.

Even though Canada played a little rusty against Latvia, I'll give my due to the Latvian team though. They kept up pretty good against a much more powereful Canadian squad.

And I'll say this, Latvia fans are passionate about hockey, on par as us Canadians.

I thought Latvia, despite the 0 for 5 stat, looked at times excellent on the penalty kill. Tying guys up well, forcing players to take shots.

If a small team like Nashville or Atlanta needed a goalie, they should check out the Latvian goalie.

I see your point, but Nashville's Tomas Vokoun might be the NHL's most underrated player, certainly that claim holds true for goalies.

As much as I'm rooting for the Americans, I'm loving seeing Thornton light it up at the WHC ... hopefully his success at Davos & now here carries over if/when there's an NHL season.
