Right now it looks like the game will be decided on Neifi's two erros in the sixth inning. The first was a tough play but the second error was one of the easiest groundballs you'll ever see.

Rich Harden is officially placed on the DL, Seth Etherton called up. Eric Chavez has been benched for today's game.

Good god Bobby Kielty might be the A's All-Star rep this year. They really need to eliminate the one player per team rule.

Hey Al, do you have anymore of these stats the uneducated fan like me would be shocked at? Because your theory on Giambi being better than Bernie theory comes true. :D

And Cano is REALLY turning it around. Four multi hit games in a row, including 2 against seattle, 3 on friday, 2 yesterday and 3 today.

Holy shit. San Diego just scored 10 fucking runs in the bottom of the 7th against the Marlins. And after a solo homer by Adam Laroche just as I was typing that last sentence, the Braves extend their lead over the Dodgers to 4-2.

All that combined with the fact that the Padres are only 1/2 game back of LA after winning 12 of 15, and this is not looking good.

I just wanted to bring up that the Orioles are too legit to quit. They salvaged the split with the ChiSox and now they're going back into the easy portion of the schedule. Fuck the Red Sox and the Blue Jays; the Orioles are winning the East.

It's still too early to say that as far as I'm concerned. The Orioles could easily drop into 3rd place before long. They ar elooking good thus far, however.

I'm not just trying to bash the O's either. I mean, look at the Dodgers after their great start. Also, I'm still more than half expecting the White Sox to go into a funk soon and concede the division race by the All-Star break despite only being behind by 5 games or fewer. Can't break tradition.

Losing streak now at eight. I have doubts that it will be over by the time interleague play begins with the Red Sox coming in next. I'm going to the game next Saturday in San Francisco, my first A's game ever as a visiting fan, so maybe I'll watch them break the losing streak at 12! What a memorable day that will be!

Welcome to the Losingball era.

You have that much fear of the Yankees that you won't even mention them :P

No, actually the Yankees and Devil Rays were excluded because they have losing records and are therefore not to be considered among teams with a legitimate chance at winning the division.

All that lost Yankee mystique is making you New Yorkers a little crazy.

anyone panicking too much is not a true yanks fan probably. I will never give up on the guys from the bronx. though my april post saying that if the os had good pitching they might have a good season w/ their lineup has been proven true. good for them. But I will always root for my team.

shoudl be an interesting season from here on in.

cmon yanks 9 in a row is next on the agenda!

They have a .500 record, and you're talking out of your ass if you think being 5.5 games behind the Orioles isn't anything to be worried about. It'll make it that much better when we do pass the Orioles.

Will it matter when the Yankees are still 5 games behind the Red Sox?

After 7 straight division titles, you'd think you guys would learn by now. It's like the Atlanta Brave situation, except with World Titles.

The Braves are a different team. They have this strange concept that in order to win, you have to acquire bench players, relief pitchers, and have a farm system.

It's not like we didn't go through hell when we lost Nelson and Stanton the last time around. Cano is the farm system, and as of now, we don't need a bench. Heck, last year we had a horrible bench too.

And that became quite clear during the postseason. You may not need a bench right now, but when someone goes down and the biggest bat off the bench belongs to Rey Sanchez, surely you'll be thinking otherwise.

Cano and Wang ain't so bad so far.

And Cena, the bench killed us in the playoffs.
