Conker on Xbox

Been playing loads of Conker on Xbox today, especially the multiplayer stuff, which is just absolutely awesome.

I was really just wondering what the interest is like for this title Stateside, and whether or not many people are thinking about picking it up? There seems to be as much indifference as there is rabid fanboy passion for it over here.

It has a cult following. Alot of people never heard of it, or there are people that will be knocking down the doors to video game stores to pick up their copy as soon as it comes out. The N64 game was the shit though.

Yeah, that's pretty much the impression I get over here. I think a lot of people are judging it by the fact that it's an old N64 game, which is a shame, because the multiplayer is superb - I'm sure it's going to have a flourishing Live community regardless.

i got the N64 version for $9.99 sealed soon after it was released. I loved the single player game, and it was one of my favorite N64 titles. I never really played mutiplayer, but with Live capabilities and incredibly improved graphics (along with the fact that the N64 version is no longer in my possession) it's a must buy for me.

The only things that I am disappointed about are the increased censorship (that's right, increased) and they could have thrown in a couple new levels.

playing a hungover squirrel, making a flower give it up to some bees, fighting the giant poo monster, fighting teddy bears based on Nazis...I can't find a thing wrong with this game, i highly recommend it to everyone...in fact I'm still hunting it down at all the used joints around here...

The Great Mighty Poo scene is ruined now. I feel sorry for anyone who bought the XBox Conker without playing the N64 version.

Not only does it censor every bad word (The N64 only censored fuck), but they took parts of the game out and made it way easier. I guess Microsoft thought its gamers couldn't handle a tough mature Nintendo game.

It sucks, I know. I don't see why they had to censor "twat" or other words like that. What parts of the game did they take out?

Lushus, all the things you mentioned were awesome. I also loved the part where Conker had to get drunk (and I love the cartoon animation where his eyes have a meter thing that indicates his drunkenness) and piss on the flaming demon things that were smoking joints and drinking liquor, followed by having to smash the balls of the giant boiler/robot.

I don't know all what they took out. IGN says the part where you had to swim through water leading the electric eel through hoops isn't in there anymore. And some areas are shorter.

They should have kept everything from the original and added scenes where the Tediz crash a plane full of "Jooze" into the "World Commerce Towers" and where the Pope's carcass gets sodomized by Gummy Worms.

I already have this game pre-ordered. I loved this game when it was released for the 64 and I can't wait for it to freaking come out. My friends and I played the N64 version a lot. We loved the multi-player on it. I also claimed this advertisement we have over at my work. Its a paper tank with a stuffed Conker in army gear and smoking a cigar sitting in the to top of the tank. I seriously can't wait.

Just finished a two-hour sesh on multiplayer – just totally, totally awesome. It's similar to the N64 multiplayer, only it's smooth and quick, the aiming is completely fixed, and it's all class-based (you can switch classes on the fly). If you liked the N64 multiplayer, this is way, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more awesome.

You just HAVE to love a game that says "Biiiiig motherf*cker!" every time you pick up the rocket launcher.

Just been playing through the mission mode of the multiplayer – Jesus, that's hard. If the Tediz don't want you getting up that beach, their Demolishers and snipers can get REALLY nasty.

You might yet be surprised…
