Scotsmanality

Recommended Posts

Did anyone ever visit the Scotsman's site, Scotsmanality.com? I found his sick, and twisted humor to be quite entertaining. He has promised his long-anticipated review of WCW Thunder for this past Christmas, but it never happened. He said something about his copy of the game didnt work properly, and the review would be delayed a few days. Well, a few days turned into a month, then a couple months, then the entire site just vanished one day with no fore-warning.

I know the members of the message boards there moved to UniversallyRanked.com, but as far as I know, theres still been no word from Scotsman. Anyone have any information?

Angle is god posted this in another thread or I wouldn't have known what exactly happened either.

From Scotsman:

Long story short, around August of last year I pretty much burnt out. I just couldn't be bothered writing anymore, and took time off. Around the same time I got into poker, and ended up putting all my spare time into that, educating myself about the game bla bla bla. I ended up taking time off from work to see if I could possibly play poker for a living and it worked out, so have now taken a year off from my job to pursue that career path.

In December I attempted to bring the site back with a WCW Thunder review, but it just wasn't working out. I mean, I had the game and sat down numerous nights to do a review...but just didn't have the passion, and put it off and put it off.

In January I re-opened the site so that my archives would always be there. Also another member of the site(cubsfan328) took control of the forums.

Then in February a funny little thing happened; the domain name came up for renewal. At the very last day I paid for the domain, however something fucked up and it didn't go through. They ended up trying to rob me dry, wanting about $500 to re-instate the domain for ten years, refusing to let me do it for less than that. Complete mess, and I just couldn't be bothered with it anymore.

So that's pretty much the fascinating(cough) end of Scotsmanality. Unfortunately the archives are not around anymore, although I do have the database backed up. If anyone ever wants an article sent to them just drop me an e-mail at g69 @ kingston dot net and I'll be sure to send it to them.

I still have my old webspace, and have purchased another domain. The website(http://www.ultimatepokerbankroll.com) will pretty much guide new online poker players into the world of online poker and how to build a 1k bankroll in a month, a guide I wish I'd had when I started.

Thanks to everyone who visited over the years; twas a lot of fun. And a little tidbit for y'all; CRZ was originally going to be one of the writers at Scotsmanality during HELL WEEK TWO, but scheduling issues forced us to cancel

Well, its good to know he's doing well for himself. I was extremely disappointed to not get the WCW Thunder review that he had promised, but oh well, life goes on.

Thats very true. I know he did a review of a "game" called "WCW N*GGER" (I know racial slurs dont fly too well around here), that had me literally fall out of my chair laughing a few times. I really miss the site's archives, and Scotsman's unique sense of humor will be missed.

That article cost him his interview with the guy from Police Academy he was going to interview.

I can't imagine why (if that Police Academy story was true).

I, too, enjoyed is sense of humor and it was an entertaining site. I even AIM'ed once and sent him a link to a story that was about this kid with Downs Syndrome being elected Homecoming King at his school...

Scotsman, over AIM, helped me fix a very brutal computer virus I had just gotten on my new laptop about a year ago. He was an extremely nice guy, and very intelligent. I had yet to take my WINXP class at school, and getting this problem fixed involved going through my registry, which he was very helpful with.

I hope his unique humor comes back to the internet one of these days.

He posts on the Something Awful message board in the poker forum all of the time. He even sets up tournaments for the people on the message board and has gotten Phil Gordon to play on Full Tilt Poker with just people from Something Awful.
