Rick Steiner punked out at SCW show

Rick Steiner went nuts at a Southern Championship Wrestling event this

past weekend in Ocala, FL. He was teaming with Erick Stevens vs. Vordell

Walker & Dustin Rhodes. According to those at the show, Steiner (who had

taped his fists up ready for a fight backstage before the match) began

shooting on Walker and tried to choke him out. Walker broke free with

ease and then basically gave Steiner a beating, taking him down twice

with front face locks. Steiner was really taken back because he thought

he was dealing with a kid who didn't know any better. The match was

thrown out with Stevens and Walker visibly upset. That left Steiner and

Rhodes to work singles. After that match the crowd watched Walker run

out to confront Steiner at the concession area, shove him, and call him

out. Steiner backed down telling him to "f--k off" and then left the

building, apparently worried for his well being. No word on what exactly

set Steiner off but he obviously couldn't back it up.

There was a major problem between Rick Steiner and sometimes Ring of Honor wrestler Vordell Walker. Steiner refused to talk with Vordell or the other young wrestler Erik Stevens before the match leaving a very friendly Dustin Rhodes to plan out the match. As soon as Steiner got in the ring with Vordell he immediately forced Vordell's head down and gave several shoot kicks with the point of his boot to Vordell's face and mouth. He then attempted to mount him but Vordell managed to get out of it and to his feet and began throwing shoot kicks at Steiner to defend himself. They went at it again and Vordell got Steiner down and appeared to get the best of Steiner until Dustin reached over and made the tag to get Vordell out of the ring. The next time they were in the ring together, things broke down again as Steiner attempted to powerbomb Vordell over the top rope to the hard floor. Vordell refused to go along with the move and fought away from Steiner. At this point, Steiner and Rhodes fought to the floor and out to the concession area. As Steiner was selling for Rhodes, Vordell came running with a shoot kick to Steiner's face and then the dressing room pretty much cleared and Vordell was taken to the back while Erik Stevens simply left and Steiner and Rhodes finished the match by themselves. After the match security kept the two away from each other. Steiner apparently apologized afterwards for his actions and said he was just trying to "rough the kid up a little" and obviously didn't expect the shoot trained Walker to be be able to give it right back and hold his own.

 

I like how Steiner became apologetic when he got rocked.

Nice to see someone give that pussy Rick Steiner a taste of his own medicine. This isn't the first time Rick's tried to take advantage of people when they're open, and it's about time the coward got put in his place.

I've seen Vordell on numerous occasions (he works alot in FL) and the guy is legit a VERY good prospect in wrestling. Charasmatic, skilled and a very humble guy - he will go places I promise you that.

Didn't the Steiners used to beat the shit out of jobbers back in WWF?

When they were in WCW, if the jobbers they were facing messed up, they tended to rough the jobbers up for it. Rick also shot on Big Vito, Lash LaRoux and Konnan during the dying days of WCW. He also stiffed Perry Saturn one time during a match they had on Nitro.

Yes, they did. It was even worse in WCW in the early 90s.
