Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted June 2, 2005 This saturday on showtime. Hatten hasn't fought anyone mustard that I know of yet, he just beats the shit out of people to the amusement of his hometown fans, and this fight's in Manchester, England. Tszyu's resume speaks for itself though, and I look for him to outfox the haphazard youngster.
Lei Tong 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2005 Kostya just has too many stylistic and physical advantages for me to think Hatton has more than a slight chance. I fully expect Tszyu to continously punch through Hatton's weak defense and stop him in 5.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2005 I don't think Hatton stands a chance. The youngster has talent but he has been far too protected up to this fight.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted June 3, 2005 ^Yeah. If he goes buck wild at Tszyu like he does on everyone else, he's going to get counterpunched to death, unless his speed and knockout power are the real deal. Talk about a step up in competition though, holy shit.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted June 5, 2005 3rd round's starting right now. Hatton's bruising on the inside, and both men are fighting dirty as fuck. No one's really landed a good shot yet. Crowd's batshit for Hatton.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted June 5, 2005 Hatton backed Tszyu up a bit in the 6th, but now counterpunching and jabs are starting to play in to it, when referee Dave Paris actually breaks up their holding and bruising.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted June 5, 2005 Ricky Hatton just threw the most violent low blow since the Golota/Bowe bouts. Ouch
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted June 5, 2005 Never thought I'd say this, but I think this fight is Hatton's to lose. I've got it scored even up to the 11th, and Hatton is on him just as tight as he was in the first and second rounds. Tszyu's never really had the chance to operate. Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2005 Tszyu's corner pulled him from the fight. Hatton did it.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted June 5, 2005 What the FUCK? Tszyu doesn't answer the bell for the 12th round. Â I don't believe this shit. He better be seriously injured. Â Still, that was the fight of Hatton's life.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2005 The judges all had it for Hatton, giving it to him by anything from 1 to 5 rounds.
Guest Posada20 Report post Posted June 5, 2005 Ricky Hatton just threw the most violent low blow since the Golota/Bowe bouts. Ouch <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Â Which totally changed the fight and won it for him, what a rip off. Worst Fight of The Year? If this guy actually takes on someone good after this fight he will be defeated, he is nothing. Also, fight somewhere other than your homeland, annoying fans. Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted June 5, 2005 Nah, it wasn't the nutshot. It's not like Tszyu was controlling things. I think Kostya's gettin' old and feeling it. Guy's 35.
Guest Posada20 Report post Posted June 5, 2005 Well he wasn't hurt by any of his punches up to that point.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2005 His corner seemed to disagree with that statement.
Guest TheHulkster Report post Posted June 5, 2005 Ricky was a completely different fighter tonight than the Ricky Hatton we've seen in the past. Minimal body punches? Good head movement? Who the hell was that guy and what did he do with Ricky Hatton? Anyway, the guy won it fair and square and showed he has remarkable stamina and a lot of heart. Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted June 5, 2005 That was surprising, but genius-smart. He didn't go for his brutal left hooks to the body because that'd leave him wide open to a counter right from Tszyu, and that's a death sentence. Hatton used what he had..youth and strength, and kept suffocating pressure on Tszyu the whole time, until he quit. That's impressive.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2005 Dirty victory or not, this fight will definately put Hatton on the map, however now he will become a bigger target in a weight division(and surround weight divisions) that are very deep. His ride has just begun, lets see how long he can hang on.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2005 It wasnt a dirty victory...just a lot of self-proclaimed fight gurus proven wrong again. Its been happening rather frequently lately....
