Ripper Posted July 11, 2005 Report Posted July 11, 2005 Eh...the whole uploading a virus thing was a little more farfetched than anything in War of the Worlds.
Carnival Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Eh...the whole uploading a virus thing was a little more farfetched than anything in War of the Worlds. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No doubt! There is a happy medium in the somewhere. At least after watching ID4 you knew what happened at the end. According to my friends, the tripods just started dropping for no real reason. The only reason I knew it was a virus was that I read the book in high school. If they explained this in the movie, i missed it.

It was just a goofy feel-good action movie. WOTW was supposed to be a serious sci-fi flick.

If your friends missed it, they weren't paying attention. And nothing about this film screamed "TAKE ME SERIUOSLY" it was just as much of a summer action/sci fi flick as ID4. I just found WotW to be a better movie.
