His attempts to do the big "of the woooooooooooooooooooooooord" and "to ruuuuuuuuuuuuummmmblllllllle" lines, while funny, are still very sad. Especially when the lines don't call for it, but he does it anyways. If your job is to READ FROM A CARD AND SPEAK INTO A MICROPHONE, and you screw it up, then you deserve to be ragged on. It has to be one of the easiest jobs in the world.

For some reason, he had this good over the topness that worked for ring announcing. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Stagger Lee Marshall.

On a semi-related ring announcer note, I met a guy last spring who used to do ring announcing for WCW when it came through the Midwest. He's now the publisher of a publication in Columbus that covers Ohio State. Guy had some great stories, though most of them completely flew over the head of my sports journalism class.
