Exslade ZX Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 Like the tag says, yes, it's another reality tv show thread. But, did anyone catch this tonight? (just went off) Seeing the commercials and stuff, I just thought it looked really stupid, and, although it is in fact really stupid, it seems like another show I can add to list of reality tv shows I watched because it was pretty..umm, interesting. Basically, put 12 kids in a house, and they HAVE to be 70's. And if they're not, well, then they go to an 'elimination round'. As I said, sort of stupid, but I found it pretty interesting.
razazteca Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 What exactly do they do in the 70's house other than get drunk and have sex?
Exslade ZX Posted July 6, 2005 Author Report Posted July 6, 2005 What exactly do they do in the 70's house other than get drunk and have sex? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well..it wasn't so much of Real World in the 70's, as 'Brady Bunch of the 70's', at least the first episode. And it looks like that goes for the whole season. The elimination round was playing Operation, lol. So typical Real World, get drunk, get into a fight, is not to be expected.
Ravenbomb Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 so they have to sit around, watch Matlock (and/or Murder She Wrote), yell at the damn kids on their lawn and sutch?
Vern Gagne Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 Yes, and a cute kid with a bowl haircut was brought in at the end of episode.
Guest Mosaicv2 Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 This sounds like the best reality-show I ever heard.
SuperJerk Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 so they have to sit around, watch Matlock (and/or Murder She Wrote), yell at the damn kids on their lawn and sutch? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, its supposed to be the 1970s, not for them to be in their 70s. The house only has technology, clothes, and furnishings from that decade. I'm kind of amused by the idea of a modern female under the age of 25 trying to survive without a cell phone.
Art Sandusky Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 Fuck, I missed this and the five replays that aired between then and now. Oh well, I'll catch one of the other 3,485 replays before next week.
RedJed Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 The premise at first sounded really weird, but after watching it, I'm hooked. Yet another guilty pleasure for sure.. Whoever that chick host is too, hot damn!
Exslade ZX Posted July 6, 2005 Author Report Posted July 6, 2005 Oh yea, for those who watched it, the host chick (who looked damn good in those tight suits) Is the chick from Joe Schmoe 2. The drunk, who was eliminated first, Rita I think.
Slayer Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 so they have to sit around, watch Matlock (and/or Murder She Wrote), yell at the damn kids on their lawn and sutch? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, its supposed to be the 1970s, not for them to be in their 70s. eiker_ir Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 so it's like that episode of the simpsons when they are in the old house
Golgo 13 Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 Huh, so it's real. I thought it was nothing more than a series of stupid commercial bumps.
King Kamala Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 Does anyone think the kids reactions to the news were a bit overdramatic. Now I'm a man who loves modern technology. But for a couple weeks, I think it'd be a little cool to step back in time. Actually, that's probably just me.

Mole Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 The show wasn't that bad and it was nice to see MTV try something different. Come on, one of the guys was up for elimination for saying "Balla." How can you hate a show for that?
SuperJerk Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 That's a good point. I wish I could eliminte people for saying "Balla".
Art Sandusky Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 Does anyone think the kids reactions to the news were a bit overdramatic. Now I'm a man who loves modern technology. But for a couple weeks, I think it'd be a little cool to step back in time. Actually, that's probably just me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd love it too, but I haven't actually seen how this is executed. Though if using present-day slang is grounds for possible elimination, I might be screwed about ten minutes after walking in.
SuperJerk Posted July 11, 2005 Report Posted July 11, 2005 What exactly do they do in the 70's house other than get drunk and have sex? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I guess they're not allowed to smoke pot since they'll be on camera the whole time.
Guest Fishyswa Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 Anyone see a preview for the next episode? Looks like there playing dodgeball against a bunch of WWE guys.
SuperJerk Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 No, I didn't see that. That kid who got cut in the first episode was singlehandedly setting public perception of gay people back 5 years everytime he spoke. I thought he was going to cry when they took away his cell phone.
