CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2005 discuss gay marriage? I'm drunk but flipping through the channels. I could swear I saw a Buffalo news channel report that it was being discussed in the American Parliament. Fill me in? It was approved in the House of Commons three weeks ago in Canada, and approved by Senate last week. Just needs Royal Assent now.

Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted August 7, 2005 It's been brought up and debated along campaign trails and has reached the status of "one of the first things you ask the person about," but the states are taking matters into their own hands before the federal government does something. 11 states last year (and not really restricted by political leanings or geography) passed anti-gay marriage laws via popular referendum. I don't think it'll ever get close to the level where it was originally proposed back in early 2004, that being a friggin' constitutional amendment.
