BUTT 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2005 I know we have some AWK fans here, so I just wanted to see what you thought of his new song "You Will Remember Tonight" (go to http://www.andrewwk.com/main.php and click on the link for the song at the bottom). In my opinion, it isn't very good. It reminds me of some of the weaker tracks from The Wolf (an album which I liked very much), but I'd assume this isn't the bast he has to offer from his new album. Any thoughts?
haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2005 I'll give it a listen when I get somewhere with faster-than-dial-up internet access. I've been a big fan of this guy since the first time I heard Party Hard. He has a hell of a lot of energy, and his songs are always so catchy.
Guest Undertow Report post Posted August 3, 2005 Haha, I was a W.K. fan since I heard "Party Hard" on one of the Madden games. This new song, makes me sad. It lacks the ass-kicking attitude of his previous music.
Guest Angrycole Report post Posted August 3, 2005 Andrew WK has the best concerts ever and everyone should experience one in their lifetime. this song is kickass.
Paul Stanley 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2005 Haha. Like previous posts, it does lack the 'ass-kicking' attitude but it's still alright
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2005 I enjoyed the direction The Wolf took so I might like this, although I too am only on dial-up till I move back in at uni in september.

Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2005 Slideshow of awesomely hilarious pictures up at awkworld now. Time to check out the song.
Skywarp! 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2005 Whoever produced it sent the guitars to the background, instead of keeping them as bludgeoning as the previous albums. That's the problem here. Well, that and the fact that someone directed Andrew to sing properly, instead of grunting-howling singing.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted August 5, 2005 God, I love this man. This song is great. Same overwrought everything, a marked variation in the actual sound and delivery, which is what made The Wolf such a nice change-up from the first album. Andrew W.K.'s diversifying his bonds and I'll be thrilled to add this next album to the collection as soon as possible.
Skywarp! 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 There is now a second song added to the site: "Kicks & Bricks". If you ever wanted to hear Andrew singing over somewhat '80s hip-hop drum machines, here's your chance.
BUTT 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 I'm not really feeling that one either.
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2005 Loved 'You Will Remember Tonight' not so keen on 'Kicks and Bricks' but it veered towards the Springsteen Big Drums© in places and I think that route might yield better songs in future. I fucking love this man.
Skywarp! 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2006 Here's a music video that's supposedly from the upcoming album (heard no release date) "Close Calls With Brick Walls." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3LjzHGOAxg Also, looking at his website reveals that he has recorded music nonstop over the past 3 years, and as a result, plans on releasing 3 albums in 2006-2007. In addition, he currently has a DVD of live footage and interviews out, if anyone was unaware.
Guest Felonies! Report post Posted June 25, 2006 I still haven't listened to that Wolf Eyes album I was given.
Skywarp! 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2006 I'm still waiting to hear news if we will ever get a proper North America release of his Asia-exclusive album, but this new track on his MySpace, shows me why he might have thought we weren't ready. "When I'm High" is a strange little song, but he's definitely evolved his craft, and it's still head-slammingly awesome. I don't want to buy an import--I only hope we get this disc stateside eventually.

Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2006 Edwin posted a zip file of Close Calls With Brick Walls in some other thread here about a month ago. Get with the times, TOFFEE-FILLED KANE.
BUTT 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2006 Only the first and last songs on it are good, by my estimation. There are many songs on it that are interesting musically but not that good as songs.
PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2006 It's no The Wolf, which is one of the more underrated albums of recent years IMO, but it's really grown on me.
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2006 I'll give credit to AWK for trying something different, but this is kind of boring. Hey, he's doing a reasonable Mike Patton on "Pushing Drugs."
Skywarp! 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2006 It's no The Wolf, which is one of the more underrated albums of recent years IMO, but it's really grown on me. Still haven't heard any of it, but supposedly the Korean version (which doesn't have the DVD that comes with the Japanese import) has four bonus songs that one Amazon reviewer (did I just hear scoffs?) said are better than anything on the proper album.
