nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2005 While I understand that they're trying to make Batista look like a dominant champion, what's the point of having the match in a way that makes Christian look 100% inferior to him? And after losing to Rey last week, and Batista this week, shouldn't Christian stop making challenges during the Peep Show? He doesn't have the most stellar record after such challenges. And how sad is it that a NC between Orton & Kamala is the thing that I most want to see? Technically, how sad is it that Kamala is the thing that I most want to see? Fro 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2005 Ken Anderson is currently Paul Heyman's pet project in OVW. He's about 6'1" or 6'2" and a real good talker and an okay wrestler. Looks kind of like a smaller Heidenreich. Kind of hard to describe his OVW gimmick but it's a nice, complex one like Raven or Tommy Dreamer in ECW. Recently he talked about how he was a bad guy who would cheat in his matches, but he wasn't scum like Ken Puder who would attack people from behind (which of course, led to him attacking Brent Albright from behind). He's currently doing a schtick where he acts as ring announcer for his own matches (and he has a great voice for it) and gives funny weights and nicknames to his opponents. He'll probably say Funaki weighs 95 lbs or something if his match makes Velocity. Silence 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2005 To anyone who says WWE is trying to make Smackdown suck because of their upcoming Friday death slot this fall, what about Raw for the past 4 weeks? It hasn't been any better because the writing is just as bad as Smackdown's, especially when they hired a fucking "Nick-Nick-Nick-Nick-Nick-Nick-Nick, Nickelodeeeeooonnnnn!" chick who doesn't even know how wrestlers bleed. Guest Greg Valentine Report post Posted August 10, 2005 Seems like another bland show. I think I'll pass. But there is one thing I have to comment on: Why the hell are Heidenreich and Animal still tag team champions? They're not doing the belts any favors if all they beat are jobbers. And I'm BEGGING WWE to drop the Simon Dean gimmick. No one cares about it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I care about the Simon Dean gimmick. Best part of Smackdown or Velocity usually for me, honestly. The checking of the pulse in between moves, the wearing of a watch during the match, the prematch mic work. It's a gmmick straight out of the early 90s similar to I.R.S. or something and I love it. Benoit vs. Simon Dean is why I'm watching SD this week. No, I'm not kidding.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2005 A Child Custody Match. Now thats fucking retarded. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> At least they're off that "women are objects to be bartered, wagered, or stolen as needed" kick they were on.
Guest nokia Report post Posted August 10, 2005 No dark match this week ? We all see tha tthe stories of London complaining backstage are indeed true with him losing twice in a row... Poor London... Velocity seems Smackdown seems
Slickster 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2005 In addition to the Batista pseudo squash, there are actually three legitimate squash matches on the show. (Animal and Hawk vs. jobbers, Orton vs. Kamala, and Benoit vs. Simon Dean.) Someone needs to tell the booking crew that it's not 1989. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Um, why do they need to waste more potential feuds by having more star vs. star matches each week? It's not like they need to beat Thunder in the ratings anymore. I'd prefer they had more jobber matches instead of killing guys' heat with even-steven booking where wins are irrelevant. AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2005 Am I the only person expecting Dominic to turn heel on Rey in favor of "Daddy Eddy" at SumSlam?
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2005 No. I expect it too, just to give Eddie an added edge to his character for when he goes after Dave.
Open the Muggy Gate 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2005 Am I the only person expecting Dominic to turn heel on Rey in favor of "Daddy Eddy" at SumSlam? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Daddy, you're a drunk. Now, I worship Raven. It's happened before.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2005 A difference here is that Sandman's real son did this, whereas in the storyline now Eddie is supposed to be Dominic's real dad. Eddie really has to finally get a win here and end this feud. Yes, it's one of those goofy feuds where one guy dominates until the other finally gets ONE win and then it's over. USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2005 Well considering all Eddie wanted from Rey in the first place was to beat him. Once he does at Summerslam, he has no reason to continue.
Guest Zarock Report post Posted August 10, 2005 Eddie reminds me of Krankor from "Prince of Space". "He's beaten me countless times before, what makes him think he can do again?!" Sounds like a fairly craptacular card, although Kazarian vs. London sounds interesting.

Maybe so people want to WATCH THE SHOWS. If people can't stand to sit through Raw or Smackdown, what do you think the likelihood is that they'll buy the PPV? I'd say it's about zero.
