1) Hassan was scheduled to beat the Undertaker and win @ Summerslam against Batista.

I can believe they were going to have Hassan win the WWE Championship at the second biggest show of the year. I didn't mind the guy, until the "terrorist" angle, but he was a pretty shitty wrestler. I think it probably would have backfired for WWE in someway.

Personally, I never found Hassan to be that bad. Sure, he was no Chris Benoit, but I think he was definitely better than, say, Snitsky or Viscera. Sure, that's not saying a lot, but I think people on this board expect to much out of wrestlers sometimes. Not everyone has to fly around the ring like Rey Misterio or be as stiff as Bob Holly.

I still think my idea would work if he went to TNA. I don't think he could stay with a "whiner" gimmick for very long, as someone else mentioned, but it would be a great way to debut him, and a sure-fire way for TNA to get attention. I also think he'd be fine on the mic...his promos on RAW and Smackdown have been fine...in fact, if he cut a Mohammed Hassan style promo (minus the anti-USA bent), but channeled it towards Vince and the WWE, it would work very well.

It's the truth =) Batista is benefiting big time

I'm certainly not doubting it becuase it sounds like the kind of thing WWE would do.

Hey Stephen, will you find out where they were heading with his character doing the terrosrist thing and fill us in? After the backlash it caused and they claimed that you would see it wasn't terrorist related, I figured they would have a few white wrestlers shown to be under the masks, one of which was Randy Orton, who would be revealed after landing an RKO on Taker to Help Hassan win.

I saw Hassan at the Kentucky airport yesterday. He has shaven his beard, and was wearing a t-shirt and jeans, and shiny sunglasses.

As if putting the belt on JBL before he was ready wasn't a big enough "Fuck you" to the fans, the fact they'd even consider this shows how out of touch with reality they've become. And just 2 months after getting totally squashed by John Cena? Morons.

You know, why is it no one is thinking that JBL might actually WIN at SS? It seems to be a given that Batista will destroy him this time, but given that Hassan was booked to win the title there does anyone think they might just plug JBL in Hassan's place? It'd be about the most horrible thing they could think of doing considering Batista is the only champion on the roster with any credibility.

I doubt Hassan was ever meant to be a long term champ. These cheap heat gimmicks can't work long term in terms of being champ. Note that Iron Shiek was merely a transition guy between Backlund and Hogan, and Slaughter (during the Iraq phase) was a transition guy between Warrior and Hogan.

I'm still envisioning the October 3rd RAW, Flair and Triple H come out to talk about their return, then suddenly they get interupted with "Heeeeeeyaaaaaaah Heeeeeeyaaaaaaah". Instant feud right there.

so, have them get interrupted by Outkast?

This statement seems to conform with WWE logic and therefore gives it a large chance of happening. I just hope that it doesn't.

I will ask on Monday.

Speaking of Hassan, any word on what's going on with Daivari and what his future is? The only thing I heard is that he's either already in the Georgia territory or WWE's wants go there soon. Any chance of him returning to the main roster in the future?

Just a few things

1) Hassan was scheduled to beat the Undertaker and win @ Summerslam against Batista.

2) Mainly, its an issue of a lack of faith and trust in WWE Creative to actually do something.  That, and there's a massive paycut in being demoted back to OVW.

Conflicting report...

Just before Muhammad Hassan was removed from the equation, the plan was for Batista to defeat Hassan at Summerslam and move onto a feud with Randy Orton. In the weeks that followed, talk began to surface regarding plans for a Batista vs. Eddie Guerrero feud, only for later reports to confirm that Batista vs. Orton was still on the cards. There's now evidence to suggest that Batista vs. Guerrero might be on after all.

According to PWInsider.com, house show lineups for late September feature Batista squaring off against Eddie Guerrero. The lineups also feature the continuation of Randy Orton vs. Undertaker, furthering the notion that the Orton-Batista feud has been postponed.

Assuming WWE does not once again revert to Batista vs. Randy Orton, one can draw the conclusion that WWE deemed Orton unprepared for a high-profile title feud. Orton's perceived lack of readiness for such a feud was what led to the Guerrero-Batista discussions in the first place, and the feeling is that a lengthier feud with Undertaker can help him rise to the level of being a top heel.

This makes more sense than putting the belt on Hassan.

I'm sorry, but Hassan was AWFUL. He couldn't even run the ropes! He was BAD.

I always wondered about that Hassan title win story. It made zero sense and would have seriously killed Batista's heat. They would have jobbed Batista in his hometown (DC no less) to a guy who isn't any good.

Batista's next challenger is a problem. Eddie has more credibility with virtually every fan than Orton...the problem is that the booking has been inverse of this fact. Orton has beaten UT of late and seems like a good time to push him again....thing is I know I could care less about him wrestling Batista again. Eddie is the better choice but he's been a total jobber the entire year.

I almost think they need to put the title on Eddie again, he needs something to improve his standing. Going from jobbing to Rey to jobbing to Batista is a waste.

It's too much to expect a wrestler on prime time national television to be able to run the ropes properly? Are your standards really that low?

I can see it now...

"Oh guys, stop being so harsh with Ashley. Replacing Stacy in the famous and OMG HOT~! rollup spot with Torrie is a tough job, and while she botched it, I give her a "A" for effort!"

Anyways, I'm really glad Hassan is gone. He was dreadfully boring in the ring, and was sometimes painful to listen to on the mic. His delivery wasn't what I'd call great. Or good.

Hassan's whole schtick was his Evil Arab gimmick. Ask yourself, if he was simply Mark Magnus and gave his same type promos and did the same matches, would anyone give a shit? Of course not.
