I picked up the collection yesterday and so far I've only reread "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow" (It's such an amazing and touching read, even today) and "The Killing Joke" and read one of the Green Lantern stories. For $25 Canadian, it was sure as hell worth it. Especially since "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow" is out of print.

Has anyone read his 'Supreme' stuff? Man, Alan Moore should've been given a run at an elseworlds Superman series.

No, but I've been wanting to. Those are avalaible as trades, right?

"DC Universe: the Stories of Alan Moore" came out this week.

It includes "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?", "The Killing Joke" and quite a few other stories. And its only $20.

I've never read any Alan Moore stuff other than Watchmen and I wasn't all that impressed with it, to be quite honest. Now I got that new DC collection (glad I passed on the previous version) and I've read a few things like the Last Superman story (great read), and the Killing Joke (good but not spectacular IMO.) It is amazing how he manages to make all the obscure, lesser-known characters quite interesting, like in those Green Lantern stories.

I haven't cast my vote yet but after I finish reading the collection I'll be able to have a definitive opinion.

Darn it. That collection is basically just an upgraded version of "Across the Universe."

That one had:

For the Man who Has Everything

Night Olympics 1 and 2

Mogo Doesn't Socialize

Father's Day Part 1 and 2.

Brief Lives

A Man's World

The Jungle Line

Tygers

Footsteps

In Blackest Night

Mortal Clay

So, the new collection has Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow and the Killing Joke, for no extra cost. Damn.
