SWF End-Of-Year Awards

Recommended Posts

I've been good to you and cut/pasted the history of who was champion in the timescale, and for how long (full reign is counted, even if it started before Genesis V). Obviously, the length of title reign doesn't necesarily mean they were a GOOD champion (as in doing stuff with the belt, making it important, etc) but it's a good guide for n00blets.

The Hville Thugg & Edwin MacPhisto Cup of Champions - For Best World Champion -

Toxxic... do I need a reason why?

The Fallout ICTV Champion of the Year Award -

Landon Maddix, for doing stuff... it was his title for most of the year.

The Thoth US Champion of the Year Award -

Ace Lezaire, because he was the only one to do anything with the title, and he won it twice.

The Andrew Blackwell International Champion of the Year Award -

Johnny Dangerous, for being the first.

The Grimedogg Hardcore Champion of the Year Award -

Andrew Rickmen... because...

The El Luchadore Magnifico Cruiserweight Champion of the Year Award -

"The Critic" Scott Pretzler, he made the title mean something again by holding it while headlining in a major feud.

It was named after you last year, Thoth. They just never went up.

The Hville Thugg & Edwin MacPhisto Cup of Champions - For Best World Champion

I'm torn. Ejiro for holding the belt for a goodly while, or Sacred for fulfilling his potential and becoming World Champion for the second time, what, three years after his first reign?

SACRED.

The Fallout ICTV Champion of the Year Award

Landon. Gotta be.

The Thoth US Champion of the Year Award

I'm saying Cortez.

The Andrew Blackwell International Champion of the Year Award

Jay Hawke. He's practically made it his belt.

The Grimedogg Hardcore Champion of the Year Award -

Cortez again. That Hardcore reign was AWESOME, and featured some great matches.

The El Luchadore Magnifico Cruiserweight Champion of the Year Award -

Again, I'm torn between Spike for sheer length and Pretzler for bringing it into the forefront of the fed. So I'll nominate BOTH.

The Hville Thugg & Edwin MacPhisto Cup of Champions - For Best World Champion

Two title reigns within the voting period pretty much means it has to be Toxxic.

The Fallout ICTV Champion of the Year Award (only valid until the merger with the US Title)

Landon Maddix

The Thoth US Champion of the Year Award (only valid until the merger with the ICTV Title)

Todd Cortez

The Andrew Blackwell International Champion of the Year Award

I'm obviously partial to two-time champions, so my vote goes to the Hawke.

The Grimedogg Hardcore Champion of the Year Award

IL as Hardcore Champion was the only time I can remember seeing him actually motivated to write.

The El Luchadore Magnifico Cruiserweight Champion of the Year Award

I'm going to say Pretzler, as I've been very impressed with what he accomplished as Cruiserweight Champion.

The Hville Thugg & Edwin MacPhisto Cup of Champions - For Best World Champion

Toxxic. Two great reigns.

The Fallout ICTV Champion of the Year Award

Landon Maddix...because, shit, I had it for a real long time.

The Thoth US Champion of the Year Award

Todd's the only one I remember doing anything with it, including me.

The Andrew Blackwell International Champion of the Year Award

Jay Hawke for making it HIS belt.

The Grimedogg Hardcore Champion of the Year Award

Cortez again.

The El Luchadore Magnifico Cruiserweight Champion of the Year Award

On length, Spike

If Ejiro Fasaki doesn't at least get nominated, I'll be disgusted. So I'm going to nominate him and personally, I'll probably vote for him, too, because his reign sticks out the most in my mind. There was a solid story to the whole thing, right up until the title loss, and if he'd had the desire that I'm guessing was lacking, I'd bank that he'd still have the belt.

The Fallout ICTV Champion of the Year Award

Landon, for lack of another real choice.

The Thoth US Champion of the Year Award

Honestly? None of them did much with the belt. Cortez by default.

The Andrew Blackwell International Champion of the Year Award

The belt has been Jay Hawke's gimmick for like... forever now. So him.

The Grimedogg Hardcore Champion of the Year Award

Again, I don't want to be disrespectful to IL or anything, but Cortez had the best reign with the belt since... shit, Grimedogg or Neilsen. I'll also nominate Zyon, just because.

The El Luchadore Magnifico Cruiserweight Champion of the Year Award -

Pretzler, with a huge assist from Wildchild.
