fazzle 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2005 Bah, I beat the cage match on my first try. I just hit HBK with a running grapple that took out all 3 guys, and climbed my way up.
Aero 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2005 Is there a way to create an entrance attire for CAWs? I haven't been able to find any menu or anything. Also CAW-related, I'm trying to make Ultimate Warrior. First, anyone come across any tassles or armbands.. I didn't, so I'm assuming they're not there. Then there's the paint feature. I made a Warrior logo, but I can't figure out how to actually place it anywhere. I found a menu to put it on his face, but I just want to put it on his tights. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? One more annoying piece: Since you don't start out with too many attribute points, I made sure to focus on strength and durability most of all for Warrior, rather than say, flying/aerial skill. So, of course, when I'm doing the moveset, it suddenly requires higher flying skill in order to do a simple big splash.
Guest Chumpstain Report post Posted September 5, 2005 I only started the story mode yesterday. Single matches are fine, but tag matches can be near impossible. Me & Jericho vs. HHH & Flair. It went about 28 minutes, and it ended when HHH KO'd me with a Pedigree. Every pin or submission finisher is automatically broken up by the partner. Any time I did my finisher to Flair and then knocked HHH off the apron, I went back over to pin Flair and got one counts. This was Normal difficulty, by the way. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Use the control over your partner to get the win. As you're hitting your finisher on the legal man, hold the Z key and push Left on the control pad. This will cause your partner to enter the ring and attack the illegal man, knocking him off the apron. You're then free to go for the pin. Just so you know.. Z and left attacks the illegal man, Z and up attacks the legal man, Z and down calls your partner to stand beside you (so you can initiate a double-team grapple) and Z and right has your partner attack the referee. David Blazenwing 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2005 Just finished story mode... won't spoil anything, but it was awesome. Also, I love the no voiceovers in this game. Everything in here comes off (in my head) sounding perfectly like the person would say it. SvR and WM 21's voiceovers were disappointing, though a few were good. Bischoff in particular was horrible though... you could tell he was just reading right off a sheet and sounded like he wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. dubq 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2005 I seriously hate the voiceovers. Big time. I mean, if all of the wrestlers were grade A voiceactors, then it'd be fine. But, no, they all suck balls. Even the ones who are good on the mic suck at reading lines off of a script.
JST 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2005 I laughed during five minutes just because Edge checked out Stacy's ass on his way to the ring.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2005 Another weird game entrance... Eddie has his heel music...yet he comes out in a lowrider. Oh, and fun thing to do: Change around finishers of guys in the game. I gave Hurricane a chokeslam from an Irish Whip...and for comedy, gave the Big Show the Shooting Star Press. Scroby 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2005 Did anyone go to a time limit draw with Flair and HHH in the tag match? Cause I couldn't pin them for crap and everytime I tired to do a submission move, either HHH or Flair would break it up.
JST 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2005 Well, that ending left me going "Well, that ain't right.". Plus, I found Hogan disappointing.

Aero 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2005 In Story mode, I find it funny that despite the fact that the World Heavyweight Title has been missing for seemingly forever, I can always just grab it from underneath the ring and use it as a weapon.

That's the WCW Championship. And yes, there is a difference.
DangerousDamon 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2005 One thing I've noticed about the stamina system is that you lose NO stamina when you kick out of moves. But when you swing a ring bell or a kendo stick you use huge amounts of stamina.

Aero 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 Okay, of all the things to be stuck on, I'm stuck on the submission match with Kurt Angle right after the Rumble... I just don't get it. First of all, it's on easy difficulty. I have my submission skill at about 7/10 (maybe even higher), but no matter what submission I use, the meter stays on for about two seconds, tops. Angle's head will be in red, I'll apply a camel clutch, and just before I can pass the blue dot, it's over. Does the submission skill need to be higher or something? Or, do what I WANTED to do, and cheat by getting a turbo controller.
Aero 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 I'm going to try different submissions, but did anyone else have the same problem with holds lasting only about two seconds?
DangerousDamon 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2005 To apply submissions longer, You need to work over the body part a LOT, or have really high momentum. I've noticed that i've done a few armbreakers on people's arms but armbars would only last about 3 seconds. But Kurt Angle had flashing red momentum and did one ankle lock for about 8 seconds. It was during that match that I noticed that my submissions just weren't anywhere near Angle's in terms of power, and since my Submission score was decent I figured it must be the fault of my low Mat Technique. I pumped it up several points, and my submission moves became a lot more effective overall, helping me apply them for longer.
Guest Coffey Report post Posted September 12, 2005 I made a Homicide CAW, but having never seen Homicide wrestle, I have no idea what to give him for stats. Any suggestions? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Make creates of wrestlers that you're familiar with? Homicide, I'm sure, would have stats on par with The Hurricane if we're talking about him in WWE. They don't like the smaller wrestlers. Smaller minority wrestlers? Forget about it.

Paul Stanley 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2005 That fucking 4 way cage match has wasted 2hrs of my time! I followed the net's advice, "use stunner or rko, etc". and NOTHING. It's next to impossible. I climb the cage when they are all down, spirit meter at red, almost over, and my stamina goes into red and i fall down. It's a nice new feature but a pain in the god damn ass!
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2005 I notice that if you beat on a wrestler long enough he'd just stand there and stare. Do that to everyone and you'd be able to climb out without people bothering you.
Paul Stanley 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2005 I did it! on a fluke.. I got mad at Christian for continuing to break up my specials to Kane and HBK, then pressed A+B to finally use one on him to get my 'revenge' so to speak (with 2:13 left) i hit my secondary finisher, hits him PLUS Kane/HBK, spirit is at red, i climb, and i win! I might sound like a giggling little girl here, but this damn level took me 4hrs in time limit draws (along with those two from before).

Ed Wood Caulfield 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2005 Heh, I've just started the story mode, and in the semi-finals in the tournament for the World Heavyweight Title, I took on Chris Jericho. I gave Jericho a belly-to-belly suplex, a kick to the stomach, and then I did a roll up and got a pin. Took all of 50 seconds to beat him. I thought that was hilarious. The CAW mode is okay, but I think it could be better. You can't create entrance gear, nor can put text on your wrestler's gear. I'm also disappointed that "No Chance In Hell" isn't in this game, since that's the theme I always use for my CAW of myself. I used Cena's theme instead. On the bright side, I love creating my own entrance.
