Rock at WM question

Recommended Posts

People don't want to see a heel Hulk Hogan. They won't pay to see one, just like people didn't pay to see a heel Steve Austin. Both men could work at getting the crowd to eventually boo them, but they were booing because they were going along with the storyline, and not because they hated them. People don't want to pay to see a nostalgia act they are meant to boo. People pay to see a notalgia act they can cheer for and are meant to cheer for.

Bullshit. People didn't boo nWo's "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan because they were just going along with the storyline. He was a cowardly, scumbag heel who the crowd wanted to see get his comeuppance.

If andybody disagrees with that, I'd be shocked.

In the here and now, people do not want to boo Hulk Hogan. Back then, when Hogan was not the nostalgia act he was now, there were people booing him because they hated him, but there was also a lot of people who were still cheering Hogan.

I can't believe there's an actual arguement to be made that Austin Vs Hogan wouldn't be the biggest possible draw right now in America.

I despise Hogan and detest Austin (in fact, Austin is the bigger piece of shit) however, I clearly know that nothing can and will (for a long time) come close to a Austin/Hogan attraction.

Maybe it is 3 years too late, It would have been better in 2002 when each were still mobile enough and could actually work their usual pace.

However Austin Vs Hogan wouldn't be about work-rate. Work-Rate is tossed out the window for this. The object of WWE should be to create a full card to cater to every niche the wrestling market has to flush out the nostalgia fest that comes with an Austin/Hogan showcase.
