MK Shaolin Monks

Recommended Posts

Their isn't a lot of save points during the beginning is there? I got stuck in area and got a bit frustrated so I turned it off and had to start from the very first save point. I got stuck in a weird area too, where Raiden and Shang are fighting near the portal. I go to it and i'm told to go back, but I can't figure out how to get back. There are spike walls where I'm suppose to go back up.

There's like one save point per area, but if you die you respawn in the same room you were last in.

I'm having company over, and got a coupon for a free rental, so snatched it up this morning. 5 days should be enough to see everything in the game I'd want to bother with, without needing to purchase.

After playing "Ko-Op" with a friend, I feel this game is 10x better than it had any right to be. Got up to the point where you fight the 3 ninja chicks and then get the Fist of Ruin.

My favorite parts so far are using a body impaled on spikes for a platform, juggling an enemy tons of times using Lao's hat spin, and the cutscene kills.

It's better than DA and Deception. I beat it on hard last night. There is like no difference.

I think Liu is the strongest..but Kung is just so cool.

They just replace Liu and Kung's models in the cutscenes. It looks pretty stupid seeing Sub-Zero being called Liu Kang and talking like him.

Most of their normal attacks are recycled from the monks and they only have a couple fatalities. They should have just kept them in versus.

You know they sorta screwed up the dialouge when you play as Kung Lao as well. Certain areas they call him Liu or Kang. I think they should have just let you be Liu Kane and then you could unlock the ko-op later in the game.

Even though the cutscenes are still loaded with bad acting, the intro joins the ranks of DA's and Deception's for being really, really friggin' awesome.

Anya: As is that link. It's funny that UK people complain about how violent American entertainment/society is, yet you probably could never show that on American TV except maybe late, late, LATE at night.

Yeah the intro is awesome. Except that it sort of makes no sense. Liu Kang should have beaten Goro in the tournament. Goro being fought near the end of the game in the Wasteland was stupid. I guess you could think of that big brawl happening after the tournament.

I want to see a CGI cutscene of the end of MKDA. Kung Lao, Jax, Sonya, Cage & Kitana taking on an army of tarkatan soldiers and eventually dying. It'd be cool to see them get killed one by one while taking out a bunch of them.

^ Awesome vid. Still my favorite of the MK fighters. I've done some of those combos but some of those sicker ones I haven't tried. Some of them don't look to be possible in the final revision/home versions, though. What would you say? Surely those multiple roundhouse ones were fixed, anyway.

Megadeth's "Symphony of Destruction" set to it also kicks.

What's the song after it? I'm taking a wild guess and say it's Rammstein.

EDIT: Okay--credits explained that. Was loading rather slow for me.

All of them except the ones at the very end are from 3.1 which is the final rev. They're just really good. The guys who did that are good at UMK3 too. They can do all kinds of infinites.

When he's dizzy after test your might go up to him and hit R2 or whatever throw is on Xbox.

I hated that part the first time through. I never used impale up to that point. Why waste a weapon on one random bad guy.

I think it's actually the black or white button. I got lucky and impaled him through the head.

I was playing forever last weekend and got to scorpion, who i thought i beat until "Inferno Scorpion" appeared and kicked my ass. How far along in the game am I? My save says 50% but assume thats all the secrets and stuff included.

Does Baraka bow to you as he has the sword shoved between his eyes and 3 gallons of blood shoot out of the wound?

haha no, he just dies. Souls kill him or something. My favorite part of the baraka fight is him lighting the monks on fire, fucking ruthless.

The Lifestream kills Baraka?

I hate how at the point I'm at there's like 30 Tartakans everywhere. Get close and they dice you up nasty, but even when you're handing it to 2-3 of them at once, you're getting like 4 blade sparks in the back of your head.

In this game, Baraka's a total hoss as Tartakans go. He's scrawny in MK2, but looks like 280 pounds now.

If the souls are called the lifestream..then yes.

When I get in a situation where there is just too many dudes, I just run. Usually you don't have to kill any of them. Unless it's to unlock something. Plus with Liu Kang it helps like crazy if you buy the double fireball move, does a decent amount of damage and keeps the tartakans at bay. It helps during the baraka fight aswell.
