Will Matt lose his heat by going to Smackdown?

Recommended Posts

They could always have both Matt and Edge grab the briefcase and fall to the ground. Instead of sending no one away, Bischoff decides to send BOTH of them off Raw (they're both liabilities to him). This would put both guys on Smackdown!--together forever, with no Lita.

Another set of alternatives:

Edge wins via cheating but Vince, feeling vindictive, decides to send Lita over to Smackdown with Matt just to fuck Edge over

Matt wins and Edge tries to cripple Matt, causing Lita to turn against Edge and save Matt. Matt and Lita reconcile and leave for Smackdown, with Edge victorious but with his heat killed off for good due to him not only losing the girl but having Lita beat the shit out of him after the match.

Edge replaces the contract with a VHS tape. JR,Coach, and King all wonder what is on the tape. Later Edge and Lita are shown backstage talking about how pissed hardy's gonna be when he watches the tape, and it's a SEX TAPE of Lita and Edge. Everyone is now worried about hardy's reaction. Todd Grisham prepares himself to interview Matt Hardy outside his locker room to get his reaction to viewing his former girl getting it from Edge. He opens the door....Hardy is jacking of in front of the TV......Hardy gets embarassed and yells "GET OUT" to Grisham. JR calls Matt a pervert. Hardy is then fired the next day.

That would be the funniest thing ever.

Only to any 8-year old kids watching. Kind of explains who proposed the idea, though.

Thought: Edge goes to Smackdown, feuds with Big Dave after Eddy and takes the title.

Remember, he still has the MITB contract for a WORLD title shot. He could get his heat back immediately upon arrival by using it for a title match.

EDIT: Just realised the MITB contract is on the line. Eh, whatever, they could still make Edge the #1 contender easily enough, it's not like anyone else on Smackdown is in line.

Bischoff stated the MITB contract was for the WWE Title on tonight's show.

That's a pretty big continuity error on WWE's part. How does the shot go from the World title to the WWE title? I distinctly remember Edge freaking out during the draft lottery, thinking that he'd lose his shot. Grisham even confirmed that it was ONLY for the World title.

You can close the loophole by simply confirming that Grisham usually doesn't know what he's talking about.

I'm thinking that the contract stated for a World Title shot ON RAW.

Meaning, if he got drafted to Smackdown, the title shot would be void.

But if the WWE Champion got drafted to Raw and the World Champion to Smackdown, then that means the contract would merely shift to the WWE Title.

That might be the worst idea ever.

That might be why i wasn't serious. :bonk:

And to quote HTQ when he got owned in the Lesnar to NJPW thread or any other time for that matter..."The ignore feature works wonders" Or something equally moronic in an attempt to save face.

Obviously you didn't read bruce blank's posts.

Just because I find it funny when it happens, doesn't mean I'm rooting for it. Why don't you ask him the same question?

Seeing as it's almost certain Lesnar will be wrestling for NJPW, and that the WWE is pretty sure they'd lose the case, I'd say HTQ hardly got "owned".

Ya because Bruce Blank said he wouldn't. Oh wait...he didn't.

BB said the no-compete wouldn't allow it, HTQ said it wasn't as iron-clad as it seemed.

I interpretted it different than you then. I saw it as BB saying he shouldn't be allowed out of it, but agreeing it's possible, he was just supporting his opinion that brock shouldn't be let out of it. To which HTQ had no real defense, but ultimo dragon, which failed. HTQ just basically ignored BB after he knew he had no responses for him. HTQ was right in the end, but he couldn't back himself up at all. All he did was quote his christ(meltzer). Which didn't really prove or disprove anything. Go read it again, BB had points that were unfuckwitable.

Regardless of if HTQ detailed his reasons, the point remains valid that the legal courts and Brock's lawyer can argue that Ultimo Dragon was allowed to work in Japan while under contract. That is more ironclad than just a no compete clause of a voided/bought out contract of Brock's.

It still doesn't matter. They 2 different situations. Ultimo was under a contract that was prearranged he could work in Japan. Brock signed a no compete clause that said he couldn't work anywhere in the world. Those are 2 totally different legal agreements. Yes they both involve WWE workers in Japan, but they agreed to different terms, and they are bound legally by those terms.

Thats like Val Venis saying he wants Triple H money, on the grounds that "it's not fair". Even though they have 2 different contracts.

Matt shouldn't lose any heat by going to SD! since he can just feud with other guys who Edge teams up with, like Christian and not get stale to watch.

Edge & Christian should team up on SD! and reform their tag team. Edge will not, should not, can not, win the title from Batista. Just let Big Dave keep the title until Wrestlemania. Jeebus knows SD! could use a decent tag team to hold onto it's belts. Both guys are dead in the water right now with no upside. Let them go back to their roots and build up some title threat cred through some convincing tag team wins, while holding onto the titles for a while.

This match could also probably be used to help draw a good Wrestlemania gate:

Brock vs. Batista can head line WM 22.

If New Japan's Simon Inoki is smart, he'll do some negotiating with Vince about helping Brock look like a stud.

New Japan Wrestling Champion Brock Lesnar vs. WWE Heavyweight Champion Batista as the main event of Wrestlemania 22.

Brock wins the title from Batista, wins the NJ G-1 Tournament in dominant fashion by killing everyone in his path...except Goldberg, who he meets in the Finals but beats cleanly. Goldberg hands over the torch to Brock and somewhere down the road, Brock can feud with Austin. Brock's young enough to be around wrestling years from now so all this promoting could pay off in the long run as well as the short slow burn return with weekly TV.

Wrestling needs another Hulk Hogan and/or Vader.

Just to really hit home with the WWE fans, let Brock have his own "outlaw" website from the WWE's website and show his NJ footage to the fans via his site. After a while, the site can join with the WWE's home website.

The final home run that wrestling can hit with Brock is to let him be the guy who retires HHH from wrestling in the ring. HHH has done everything he can in the WWE. He's not going to help get talent over since no one bought into him to begin with so how can a wrestler get the rub from him if he never had any to give in the first place?

Ric Flair can be Brock's manager. Just let Ric hype the shit out of Brock since Lesnar, unlike HHH, really is "that damn good" in the ring. He's not an in-ring genius or anything but he kills guys dead and the fans can believe it. That's one step towards drawing a good gate for a show.

Ric's timeless but he needs to not be allowed to wrestle on a regular basis anymore. No one's bought into him as a threat since WCW sent him to the looney bin.

Of course, for something like this to happen, Vince needs to let go of his ego and hold back his pride, which is unfortunately not likely to happen...
