Red Baron Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 Free Beer For Fans Free beer on offer to fans of first team to beat Bayern FRANKFURT, Sept 22 (Reuters) - A German brewery will give away 10,000 litres of beer to fans of the first team to beat Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga this season. Bayern have won 15 league games in a row -- six out of six this season, plus their final nine on the run-in to the title last term -- and are already four points clear at the top. "We want to create a bit of excitement," Bitburger spokesman Dietmar Henle told Bild newspaper on Thursday. "We've nothing against Bayern but there must be some tension." The beer could be claimed on Saturday when second-placed Hamburg SV host Bayern. Bitburger will raise the offer by 1,000 litres each match until the prize has been won, Bild reported. I mean its worth going to Germany and get good free beer, if Bayern lost.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 How many fans attend each Bayern game. I'm guessing you get max one liter of beer, in the fine print. Wow.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 As long as they don't give it out AT the game. That's never a good idea.
Guest TheDon Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 I think you are in the wrong thread Mike. I remember seeing on some sports show about ten cent beer nite between the rangers and the Indians I believe. The game was cancelled because everybody got drunk and basically looted the field.
Vampiro69 Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 I remember hearing about that game, people were fighting in the stands and throwing empty glasses and cans onto the field. Pure mayhem that game.
RepoMan Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 That was my freshman roomate's Aunt's idea for 10 cent beer night. I think they did it a couple of times and the first attempt went well with only a few incidents that stayed in the stands. I belive the Rangers and Indians had a brawl earlier in the season adding to the tension.
Guest Lawlerm Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 And the beer was claimed at the weekend as Bayern lost 2-0 to second placed Hamburg.
TheFranchise Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 In the same weekend £10,000 was claimed for charity when Chelsea conceded a goal.
