OK...somehow this got lost in the shuffle. I'm not blaming my co writer of this...but since I can't easily contact him, it's up to me to post it here. Um, if possible, is there a way a mod can edit this in? If not, that's OK.

"BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

 

The New Hampshire crowd suddenly rise from their feet and boo their hearts out, as the soft opening to "Megalomaniac" begins to filter through the sound system. Already the knifes are sharpened. The anti-Maddix signs are out. And everyone in the crowd is waiting, savouring the chance to get on the case of Landon Maddix, as he storms out through the entrance way. Maddix continues storming, trying to block out the taunts and abuse being hurled at him as he stomps his way up the steps. Entering the ring, Maddix demands a microphone, as the music cuts...and gives way to the chants of the crowd.

 

"TODD COR - TEZ!"

"TODD COR - TEZ!"

"TODD COR - TEZ!"

"TODD COR - TEZ!"

 

Pete: "Well, this should be fun."

 

Glaring into the crowd, Maddix waits for a bit of hush. Big mistake. That only causes the crowd to get louder and louder, until finally Maddix starts to scream at them off mic to 'shut the hell up'.

 

Maddix: "Go ahead, laugh it up!"

 

And sure enough the crowd do.

 

Maddix: "I lost..."

 

"YYYEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!"

 

Maddix: "I lost to Todd Cortez..."

 

"YYYEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!"

 

Maddix: "I lost to Todd Cortez at the biggest event of the year in front of the entire world!!"

 

"YYYEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!"

 

Getting visibly flustered, Maddix begins to pace back and forth while holding his hair back from his face with one hand, showing that slowly but surely...a smile is creeping over Landon's face.

 

Maddix: "But if you think for one second that that's going to make me cower away in shame, you're wrong. Dead wrong! See Todd Cortez might have beaten me at Genesis, but all he did was even up the score. He didn't 'beat' me. He hasn't proven that he's 'better' than me. All he's done is given you people a little more false hope to get yourselves all exicted about. Todd Cortez beat me at Genesis VI, but as the saying goes, he won the battle, but he damn sure hasn't won the war!"

 

King: "And to think, we thought we'd heard the last of this."

 

Pete: "Oh, if only."

 

Maddix: "After all Todd Cortez has done, one defeat isn't enough to stop me or to put me to rest. He ruined our team, cost me the Tag Team Titles, stole my manager, lied to me, screwed me over, stalked me everywhere I went, through me through a glass door at Ground Zero and almost gave me a total body hemorrhage, ruined my chance to fight for the World Title at Genesis and then stole a victory from me...and I still came out in front of the world and I did what I do best. Win. Yet, you people thought that one, measly three count would finish me off and I'd be gone forever? Too ashamed to show my face. Accept defeat and run-off to the fake SWF retirement home with Sacred, Flesher, Toxxic and all?"

 

Maddix starts to laugh off mic.

 

Maddix: "No, no. It's not going to end like this. I REFUSE to let this issue end like this! Todd Cortez begged SWF officials to give him what he wanted after our split...and I graciously accepted, expecting to be put into a wrestling match, but instead finding myself fighting for my life in a public casino at Ground Zero! I survived that. That should have been the end. But Todd Cortez begged again, he pleaded again and lo and behold, he got himself a match, with me, at Genesis, which I DIDN'T agree to but had no say over. And now, now that he's got what he wanted, he wants to end this? *heh*...he only WISHES as much! If Todd Cortez can demand a match with me, on two seperate occassions, then I don't think there's any reason why I shouldn't be granted what I want. And what I want, is a rematch at Ashes 2 Ashes!"

 

The crowd boo, but aren't entirely sure they wouldn't actually want to see the rematch. After all, they got enough enjoyment out of Maddix being torn apart the first two times.

 

Maddix: "Now, I don't have a cheap, slutty girlfriend to pimp off as a bargaining tool like some people..."

 

"BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!"

 

Pete: "Oh, come on! That's completely uncalled for!"

 

King: "He's got a point though. Us corporate guys gotta get us some management perks, don't you know."

 

Maddix: "...but damn it, I...I...uh..."

 

Suddenly, Maddix begins to trail off in mid-sentence. Mainly because a figure has emerged through the curtain and is slowly, seductively making it's way down the aisle. Maddix strains his eyes to take a closer look and doesn't know whether to beam with glee or stare in confusion as he begins to recognise the person. Recognising her. Just as the fans that are passed down the aisle begin to do the same. And just like Maddix in the ring, they're none to sure over how to react themselves as the female reaches the bottom of the rampway and pauses for a moment.

 

Pete: "King...King, is that...who I think it is?"

 

King: "That's Kelly Connelly, yeah."

 

Pete: "Well, what the hell is she doing out here!?! We haven't seen her for months, since...well, since the unfortunate automobile accident that she was involved in. But...she's back. And she's back alone, coming to the ring while Landon Maddix is...this doesn't make any sense."

 

Kelly slowly walks up the ring steps, never taking her eyes off of Maddix as she does, even as she steps into the ring over the second rope. She gets into the center of the ring, where Maddix, while still not TOTALLY sure why she has come out here, is starting to smile a bit.

 

"Well, isn't this a unique surprise: Kelly Connelly. Last I heard, you were stuck in a car with some mangled reject with a broken arm." He begins, grinning evilly. "But at least you're out here now, and I know exactly why. You heard me talking about how I didn't have any bargaining tools to help me get what I want, and now you're coming back to help me out. Well, I..."

 

Maddix is cut off abruptly by Kelly grabbing the mic out of his hands...causing the crowd to erupt into cheers.

 

Pete: You know, I NEVER thought I'd hear the day that Kelly Connelly got something more than cat-calls!

 

Kelly smirks a bit before talking. "Maddix, for once in your life, do us all a favor and SHUT...THE HELL...UP! You see, I have more important things to deal with right now than listening to the delusional rants of a LOSER...and despite what you say to the contrary Maddix, you ARE a loser!"

 

Kelly is about to continue, but the crowd has decided to let Maddix get some negative feedback...in the form of a loud "LO-SER!" chant over and over again.

 

King: It's rare that I agree with people on a subject, but hell, I'm tempted to join them in this chant!

 

Maddix is looking VERY angry at the chant being directed his way, and tries to yell at the people to shut up, which only causes the chant to get louder. Eventually, Kelly holds up her hand, and the crowd dies down, allowing the leggy red-head to continue.

 

Kelly: No, you see...a woman like me, a professional woman in this busy world, has a lot on her plate. I have to work on renewing both my managers and wrestlers licenses, I have to see about getting a photo-shoot up for myself on SWF.com, as well as seeing if I can get the Women's Championship re-instated. Not to mention why I'm here.

 

Maddix finally gets another mic from out of the ring. "First off, don't EVER interrupt me like that again!" he says, glaring at her. "Secondly, if you're not here to talk about me, then I'm not interested. So why don't you..."

 

"This DOES have to deal with you, Landon." Kelly interrupts, ignoring his first warning. "You see, I have a message to give you, a message that will directly affect you challenge for Ashes 2 Ashes. A message that you should be VERY interested in."

 

Maddix: Oh really? Now what would thaghkt!

 

The "ghkt" part of Maddix's line comes from two arms coming up from behind him, grabbing him in the judo choke-hold dubbed the Tazzmission, then dropped down flat onto his back! Standing on him is a familiar black haired former ICTV champion...someone who Maddix has had a LONG history with!

 

Pete: Holy...is...is that? Could it...

 

King: It is! It's..it's Max King! Max King is...

 

Max King grabs the mic that Maddix dropped when he was dropped, smiling as he did so. "Maddix...the message is simple: THE KING...HAS...RETURNED!!!"

 

The crowd ERUPTS in cheers at this, and "Superstar" plays over the speakers as King and Kelly leave the ring...just as Jay Hawke and JJ Johnson enter the ring. The returning stars leave through the crowd, huge smiles on their faces.

 

Pete: "The Icon" Max King and Kelly Connelly are back, and it looks like Maddix is their first target! You heard it here first...THE KING HAS RETURNED!

 

King: ...I don't know what I think of that saying though.

 

The camera fades out on Kelly and King's smiling faces.
