Met Carlito today

Recommended Posts

Guest Kaedon

Carlito is a young stupid kid who just wants to do his own thing, because thats how most all kids are. Compraing him to anyone who has been around like Regal really isnt fair. I bet Regal was a cocky prick when he was that young too.

Met Carlito today, He was kind of a douche bag

Maybe he was protecting his gimmick.

That's what I was thinking, perhaps he was to stay in character. I mean they make Eugene act retarded ALL the time now and they make Jillian Hall where a bandage on her face so I would assume that they told Carlito to stay in character as well.

Apparently he is always a douche at signings. People wrote into Power Slam magazine here in the UK mentioning how he was the same way at Virgin Megastore signings in Scotland and Ireland. Apparently Booker, Rey and Dawn Marie were quite fan friendly while Carlito wouldn't actually pose for pictures, would just sign and say "Next".

Dawn Marie looks OLD in person.

So I made it to Manhatten today for Maury which was quite entertaining in itself, but anyways it just so happened that Carlito was making an appearence at Toys R Us in Tiems Square today. So for lack of anything better to do with my time and money, I walked over there, purchased his action figure and got in line. Compared to the stories I've heard about the lines to see Triple H and Batista at that place stretching blocks, and the line for Hogan when he was there that just went on forever, there was hardly anyone in line to see Carlito. The line stretched maybe near the end of the block if even that. I saw him when he first came up on the third level, and he seemed at least somewhat responsive to the crowd, but once I actually got near the front of the line, I could see that he looked completely disinterested, as if this was the last place he wanted to be at that moment. He wouldn't even smile for anyones pictures, he jsut about barely looked up at the camera. I just shook his hand, got his action figure signed, and said hi, he barely even utterd a response to that. Compare this to meeting Regal over the summer who was very humble towards his fans, and willining to chat for a few seconds, and Carlito just seemed like a complete asshole in comparison. Oh well, maybe he was just having a bad day? Oh well, at least I got his figure signed, and was able to get the new Simon Dean figure too, so it wasn't a total waste of time.

Oddly enough, and I didn't expect this, but Mick Foley was exactly the same when I saw him at one of these sorts of events.

I actually went to an Indy show with Foley and he was REALLY nice. Him and Coach donated ALL the money they made from the event (including merchandise and autographs) to a kid who was a cancer survivor for Relay for Life.

You wanna know whos a really great guy? Al Snow. I was out in Phoenix for Summerslam '03 and went to the Diva Search Contest at Jillians but since the actual show was gonna be in the bar area, you had to be at least 18 just to get in, and at that time I was only 17, so after waiting there for hours I couldn't see the show. Anyway,I decided to stick around and play games, and some of the people in line behind us were telling the security guards about me and Al overheard them and sent one of the guards to come get me and bring me back into the wrestlers' private green room. He introduced himself and asked what I was doing in Phoenix (since he heard I lived in Pittsburgh) he talked to me for a while about the business and then proceed to take me around the room and introduce me to all the wrestlers; Hurricane, Jericho, the Dudleyz, Stacy and Trish. He introduced me to Dr.Tom and told him I wanted to be a wrestler and said Tom was the guy to talk to about that. He was also nice enough to take a couple pictures with me, in short Al's by far the nicest wrestler I've ever met. He went way out of his way for me, and it's something I'll never forget.

Al Snow is really cool! I actually was backstage at an Indy show I helped to promote and he and Jonah (from Tough Enough) were there. After the event the two of them and a couple of my friends all went out for a night on the town! Really good time. Cool to hang out with them and be in the VIP section of every club we went too!

The most uinterested person I've met was Amazing Red. I said "looking forward to the match tonight" and he just kinda said.. nothing and look blankly into space. The exact same comment to Chris Sabin, his opponent, was met with "oh, thanks man!" and such.

Sean Waltman was surprisingly one the coolest people I've spoken to. I casually mentioned that I thought Kid/Razor vs Diesel/HBK was a great match and he was "I know which match you mean! From Action Zone!" and was really into it, it was fun.

Jimmy Hart is also awesome. Chris Daniels and Jerry Lynn were real nice, too. Daniels was pretty funny ripping on a guy that saw a sign saying 8x10's were $10 and thought it was refering to t-shirts.

Jay Lethal and Xavier were kind of dicks too. At an indy show I was at they had the best match of the night, went 60 mins and the crowd was into it the whole time. After the show I told them what a great job they did and how they easily had the best match of the night. The signed autographs for me but didn't seem to enthusiastic about it. They had some crazy bumps during the match so maybe they were in pain or something and just wanted to be out.

Same night Mikey Batts and Kara were signing autographs at a table and I think they were charging but they signed a program for me for free so I thought that was really nice.

Tommy Dreamer was a really nice guy, I didn't really meet him though, he was wrestling at a WWF house a few years back, I was in the front row wearing an "Innovater of Violence" shirt and after the match he was slapping hands with the crowd. He came to me and gave me a big hug and said "thank you so much". I thought that was really cool of him.

Concerning shawn michaels, My friend was stationed at an Air Force base in San Antonio. He went to a catholic church near the base and saw Shawn Michaels sitting in the row in front of him. And for people who don't know, during a catholic mass, there is a part where you shake hands with people sitting near you and say "Peace be with you". Well he shook my friends hand and stuff, so he called me afterwards. I told my friend, I would pay him $50 to instead of saying "Peace be with you" to say "You screwed Bret" while shaking his hand. He was too much of a chicken shit to do it. Which I don't blame him, but man that would have been a great story. "Shawn Michaels physically assaults fan during sunday services!"

LMFAO!!!!!!!

That would have been GREAT!

Yeah, but she's still hot. Even when she's not wearing make-up! IMO

This story does not add up...

You say he called you after mass when he shook Bret's hand.

And then you offered him $50 to shake his hand and say that? After the mass was over?

There isn't a second "Peace Be With You" that occurs.

How could he be a "chicken shit" when he never had the chance again?
