CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2005 as a Bills fan, all I can say is....when does the NBA start up? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't you mean hockey? Cause I'm pretty sure Buffalo doesn't have an NBA team. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Didn't they at one point? For the love of God, come back Packers. I'm smitten with a Pack fan, and need to get something going in KKK's pick em.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted October 4, 2005 Don't count on it, CG. That offense is just fucking awful. It's to the point where I'd consider putting in Aaron Rodgers if it doesn't get any closer by the time the 4th quarter starts. The irony behind this game, which I kinda feared, was Carolina is winning in exactly the same fashion Green Bay did last year during this very same MNF game: Put a shitload of pressure on the QB, oblierate the running game, and run the ball yourself down their throats, taking advantage of the opportunities caused by turnovers. Not to mention the rash of injuries that befell Carolina last year or Green Bay this year. Ugh.
Robert 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2005 Anybody who says that the Packer's are going to go 0-16 is on crack, and did sit through the years 0-16 could happen. X, you had Lynn Dickey, Don Majakowski, and Brett Favre. I was stuck with Scott Hunter, Jerry Tagge, John Hadl, in-experienced Lynn Dickey, Rich Campbell David Whitehurst, and Frank Patrick (a fucking TE converted to QB.) In 1975, John Hadl threw 21 INT's, we four of the teams we beat had a combined record of 13-29. We managed to upset the Dallas Cowboys, and that game was a fucking lucky one. Other years: 1980 (last ranked offense, near last defense.) This team will never go 0-16, and even then I'll be a fan. Panthers pretty much have this one wrapped up. Guest *KNK* Report post Posted October 4, 2005 Of course, The Packers will likely pull within 4 and Favre will toss an INT on the last drive.

Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted October 4, 2005 In other news, this was really fucking frustrating to watch as a fan. Being down 32-13 at the beginning of the fourth quarter, with a chance to all of a sudden tie it and send it to overtime with just over a minute left is simply incredible. Say what you will about Favre, but the 11-12 play, 86 yard drive he left to bring it within 3 was amazing, and proof enough that he still has what it takes to win, but with all those injuries to both sides of the ball, receivers fucking up passes and letting them get picked off by DB's, costly penalties, and continued bad play in the defensive secondary, it's just too much to overcome. That makes it 3 losses in a row by a combined 6 points. Well hey, they got the Saints next week at Lambeau (when in need of a win, just play New Orleans), but this pretty much nixes any shot at doing much of anything but play spoiler the rest of the season. The question really is if the team will do anything in the offseason to actually improve, or if they're just going to give up and go into "rebuilding mode"? I'm still keeping my prediction for the season at 7-9, maybe 6-10.
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2005 This pretty much sinks the Packers, but keep in mind the division leader only has 1 win.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted October 4, 2005 Unless everyone else in the division also loses next week (Chicago has Cleveland, Minnesota has the week off, and Detroit has Baltimore, so unlikely), and Green Bay wins next week, it won't mean much. packwingfn 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2005 I know that's so sad but theres no way the Packers would ever have a shot especially with their schedule....Steelers, Eagles, Bengals, Ravens, Falcons I say they get at least 1 win against the Bears...isnt it crazy they both their games are in December? Guest MikeSC Report post Posted October 4, 2005 In this case, what the heck is Brett playing for? His team is terrible. Absolutely atrocious. And he knows the playoffs aren't a legit possibility. They can't run that well, so it all falls on Favre's shoulders, which will lead to him throwing far too many picks. He should just end it now himself. He's not doing himself any favors on a team that is so obviously rebuilding.
packwingfn 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2005 I'd rather have Favre finish the season out then retire now at the beginning of the season.....nothing against Rodgers but I'd rather him wait until next season when he has a healthy Javon Walker and hopefully a #1 or #2 draft pick for a defense player.... Hell if we finish with the #1 pick ,we should just draft Leinart All I know is, Sherman better be fired NOW or by the end of week

If you finish that far down, you find a way to trade out and get a WR and some defensive players. Leinart would be a crazy waste of a draft pick when you grabbed Rodgers last season. packwingfn 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2005 I was being sarcastic.....And if their gonna draft anything first round or trade, they need a CB....not a WR.

Guest Arnold_OldSchool Report post Posted October 4, 2005 I'm not a Packers fan at all, but I do like Brett Favre and it's a shame that a future HOFer like him is going to end his career on such a crummy note...but at least he didn't punk out and leave the team to go rot on the bench of some other team... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No other team would pay him the 10 million he's making this year

Chicago is probably the best team in the division right now, and I'm not sure they are better than the Browns. It is that sad. It is going to come down to the divisional games because I can't see any of these losers winning much outside of it. Minnesota in particular has looked even worse than Green Bay. At least Green Bay's losses have been close. No other team would pay him the 10 million he's making this year <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You act like he's the problem with the team. And I'd rather Rodgers not be put in with these bunch of losers and ruin his career.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2005 Okay, so I am a little late. I figured the Falcons/Vikings game would be 30 - 27. Well. I got the 30 right. I had no idea that everyone got healthy for Atlanta. The entire secondary was back, the entire line and it got ugly. Fast. Good game for the Falcons, and I am happy that Vick didn't have to rush back. Had it been a closer game, I am sure he would have went back in as he is already slated to be the starter in the Pats game.

Favre alone is the draw for Green Bay. Favre isn't the problem with the team, he can still play, there's no question about that. He just has nothing else on that team with him. I'm not saying Favre could walk out and strap on a New Orleans jersey and lead them to the playoffs but he wouldn't make a team worse and would be a damn good draw. USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2005 Favre playing for New Orleans would make the Saints huge draws, since he is a native Mississippi boy.

Guest *KNK* Report post Posted October 4, 2005 But the Saints are probably moving to Los Angeles or San Antonio. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Los Angeles Saints. Something sounds really wrong there. NO would be the only team I'd could honestly see Brett willing to play for other then GB, if only because of the location but It won't be in NO much longer anyways, so it's pointless to even think about.
