Precious Roy Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 12 team, 8 cat roto, live draft, had the #2 pick 1. Kevin Garnett 2. Gilbert Arenas 3. Ray Allen 4. Yao Ming 5. Chris Bosh 6. Manu Ginobili 7. Quentin Richardson 8. Chris Paul 9. Jamaal Magloire 10. Luol Deng 11. Mike Sweetney 12. Kwame Brown 13. Deron Williams I was very happy with my first 8 picks. I totally spaced on Joel Pryzbilla and he went two picks after I took Magloire, that's the one pick I'm kicking myself over, because I'm sure it will bite me in the ass. Final pick came down to a choice of Williams, Livingston or Telfair. I picked Williams due to maturity and situation, I'm worried about the depth in LA/Livingston getting injured and Telfair getting only 25-28 minutes a night, but I may pick up one of those guys off waivers, what do y'all think about those 3?
Fökai Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 Ming at #47, Bosh at #50 and (especially) Ginobili at #71 are steals. With the players you do have, I'd try to move Allen or Q while their value is up. Garnett - PTS, REBS, FG%, FT%, ASSTS, BLKS Arenas - PTS, STLS, FT%, ASSTS Allen - PTS, 3PM, FT% Bosh - PTS, REBS, BLKS, FG%, FT% Ming - PTS, REBS, FG%, FT% Ginobili - 8-cat. As you can see, Allen is very exependable with Q on the roster. Your frontcourt's FT% is good enough that you're wasting Allen and his FT% - a sexy stat that will draw any possible suitors to him. As for the Williams/Livingston/Telfair situation, I'd try to trim the fat off of your team and pick up Telfair. He could be a monster cat guy with the opportunities he's about to receive.
Precious Roy Posted October 3, 2005 Author Report Posted October 3, 2005 thanks for the notes, appreciated I took Allen over Artest, which in retrospect I maybe shouldn't have done as I love Artest's game and think he'll be a model citizen, but it's probably a trade I can make happen on a whim. I do think I'm, not weak, but not up to snuff in assists, so I may look to make a trade for a guy like Marbury. Marbury for Allen would probably work for me. I'm in love with my Yao/KG/Bosh frontline and consider them untouchable. I think I might drop Kwame Brown and go for Telfair. I don't like Kwame, but I'm seduced by the potential and the pairing with Phil and Kobe, which could be the tonic to his MJ-induced confidence issues, or something that locks him into career mediocrity.
alfdogg Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 Who were some of the 46 players who were picked ahead of Yao Ming? Jesus.
Precious Roy Posted October 3, 2005 Author Report Posted October 3, 2005 I can tell you that the list includes Jason Terry, Andre Miller Gary Payton and Sam Cassell
The Electrifyer Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 I like the Jamaal Magloire pick at #9 as well. I think a lot of people will forget about him, since he was out with injuries for almost all of last season, but in 2004, the guy was still an All-Star.
