Epic Reine 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2005 I don't know if it's by pure coincidence but I always felt the WWE was subtly putting off a Cena/Orton showdown. The two were often compared to each other and are still today somewhat. Orton is the better worker right now in my opinion and with some build, it can be some pretty decent stuff but when will you think it will happen? Again, it could just be me... claydude14 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2005 Maybe Cena and Orton could be the foil each other need to have that one feud that makes them. I don't think either have had that yet. It'd have potential to elevate both, like Rock/HHH.

Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2005 No idea when it will happen, maybe at a future WM, who knows? But I did like that tease they did at SS 04.
Carnival 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2005 I think they should keep teasing it for years to come. But that would require for them to think "long term". Obviously thats not something they like to do.
The Tino Standard 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2005 It would certainly seem that at least a year ago, Cena/Orton was their hope for being the next generation's Austin/Rock or Rock/HHH. I couldn't help but think during the build to WM this year that everything Batista was doing was originally meant for Orton before they pulled the plug. That would include the showdown at the end of the Rumble. It could still become a great rivalry down the road, but a.) It's going to have happen naturally because they don't seem so hell-bent on forcing it on us anymore and b.) Orton is going to need to do some catching up because Cena (smark hatred aside) has passed him by on the depth chart.
