Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2005 Hola gang, I was thinking that this week, we do a "cold opening" for HeldDOWN~! with Zack managing to rally up most of the Originals (maybe have PK either kind of standing there, or be "late to the building" to build things up slightly?) and call out The Upstarts and find out just what their basis for existence is. We know why they're doing what they're doing, but it's never been truly "explained" so to speak. So I was thinking that we call them out, and the GPX, Christian Wright, O'Hara, etc. can all come out. I'll probably use Static as the spokesman again to explain everything (I have some ideas). Didn't know if anyone had anything they wanted on first, but just give me a yay or nay, as well as any possible ideas for the segment. The gist of what I was going to say is that the GPX are a "product of the system"...that the Global Party Exchange was something created and manufactured, not "born naturally". The GPX will go on to say they hate the way they were portrayed as "jokes" and that finding their edge isn't some type of image makeover, it's who they are. They say they've been branded with the name forever and can't hide that, but they are going to make it stand for something meaningful this time, and they're going to make sure that no one else has to suffer the way they did. That's a way to explain the newer rookies (Wright, O'Hara, etc.) joining the Upstarts right away, because the GPX can say that they'll help them establish a name without becoming a "marketing scheme" or a "poster boy". That reasoning can also be used as to why they've made Zack the main target, and of course there are other ways to tie that in with other Originals. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

To continue with the "ringer" storyline, would this be a good place for Zack to accuse SJ, of asking him why, and SJ responding that he just made a business decision, and theres someone more qualified to speak (and hand the microphone over to static, calling him "their spokesman". SJ's just in it because by being aligned, he's got a world title shot now, which is really more than Zack and Co ever did for him, accpetance etc. Just my thoughts. Basically, you let them have the floor and reveal their main motivation, but then step in and talk about why you "claimed the throne" and stepped up to lead them. I know he's a bit of a hard character to write, but just a little something would be good. O'Hara too if you can manage chav as well as MENSA. Alternatively, I guess I could write them.
