Foley/Carlito Stipulation

One of the best things about Mick Foley is that he's unpredictable. Each character (Dude Love, Cactus Jack, and Mankind) is a different personality that comes forth when something or someone sparks an emotion in Mick Foley. For example, when Triple H was on a mission to end Foley's career, he awoke the sleeping hardcore hellion within Foley and Cactus Jack was unleashed for the Hell In A Cell match at No Mercy 2000.

 

With that said, this proposed stipulation of choosing who Foley wrestles as just doesn't sit well with me. To suggest that Foley can be any one of these people on command totally goes against the gimmick that these are different personalities that randomly come out of Foley at any given time for any given reason. These personalities aren't alternate costumes you can choose for Foley like in a video game. They are essentially three different people in the mind of the schizo Foley. Maybe I'm just taking it too seriously, but I'd rather see one of the best gimmicks ever remain untarnished as opposed to it becoming cheapened.

I completely agree with that.

 

Having anyone pull up an alternate character on command is pretty much slaughtering kayfabe in any case.
