Guest Desperate Housewife Report post Posted October 25, 2005 And you could make the arguement this put over the JR/Vince feud >_> Yeah, a feud between two 50+ year old non-wrestlers, the skit itself taking time away from those who actually need it. So productive. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> By those who need it - I assume you mean Benjamin - he wasnt over before - he still isnt over. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Are you normally this dense? Like, seriously-Is there some condition which causes you to be so mindnumbingly stupid? Shelton Benjamin was over with the crowd on the merit of his ability, as GASP! A wrestler. However, for no reason at all, and despite a solid performance at WMXXI, the WWE suddenly decides to drop his push, and treat him as Masterlock fodder. However, let's assume that Shelton isn't over, which is a possibility, given how he's been presented to the crowd. How is he supposed to get over if HE'S NEVER ON THE FUCKING SHOW? And why is he not on the show? Because of shit like this-stupid skits which further nothing at all. To say that Shelton still isn't over, while ignoring the reasons why he hasn't been allowed to do so, is the icing on the cake to the black hole of logic that has been your posting so far. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Saying TNA's funeral skit was offensive is "illogical" to you? What are you, the leader of the "You're not allowed like the WWE" Brigade?

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 It ain't a finisher until he actually does it to people in matches and WINS the match. That said, am I the only one who really hopes they don't job Foley out to Carlito? It seems like such a waste of time. Foley only has so much rub to give before everyone realizes that anytime he comes back he's just jobbing to someone. I say put Foley over Carlito here and keep him somewhat relevant so he can give the rub to someone actually worth a shit. That Vince hospital thing tonight was the worst thing I've ever seen on Raw. I should mention though that my dad had a similar surgery to what JR had though (I forget the exact medical term). It's a very serious surgery and can be life threatening in a worst case scenario. The beginning of the show was decent, the ending was pretty solid, but man everything else on this show ranks among the worst shit I've ever seen on Raw. Da Maintenance Man 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 He's over and he makes a killing off the merch but he is essentially in that HBK 1996 zone of being over-exposed and completely losing his element of coolness and as a consequence, his overness. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I understand it in theory, for the here and now at least a bit, but can't people (including Vince), see that he just can't last for the long term like this? He's absolute shit in the ring, and he has one of the most tired and idiotic gimmicks of all time for a main eventer. Sooner than later, the fans are going to turn on him also, and not in a good way. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And if that happens, they'll just turn him heel & everything will be ok. The same thing happened to Edge when he came back early '04 (crowd shitting on him) & a heel turn alleviated the problem. You're talking as if WWE should fire him or something & doing that would be beyond idiotic.

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 Well, it's easy to say the HHH necrophilia thing was worse but at least it led to SOMETHING. As in a match on a PPV. That Vince thing tonight was a complete waste of time. It doesn't lead to anything really, other than a roundabout way to set up Austin/Coach at this PPV which is a total waste of Austin's time and should just be a 2 min. squash. Also, the whole Katie Vick storyline was at least a fictional angle....this JR thing is actually real life. Think about this. I actually just defended the Katie Vick angle. I never thought that day would come.

Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 Also, the whole Katie Vick storyline was at least a fictional angle....this JR thing is actually real life. All arguements aside, I just dont see how this concept works. Yea, like necrophilia isn't real. Like people haven't been set on fire in real life before. Like someone hasn't try to pee on someone's casket for real. (>_>) I just don't see how any of these angles are more offensive then another because their 'simulating real life', when technically all of them are from things that are "real"
Downhome 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 I don't give a shit if it led to something, I wouldn't care if it led to Benoit winning the title or something. Darthtiki 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 OVW is better than Raw right now. I'll be watching Ron Mexico vs the Jets <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hell, just reading the results has assured that I will not be watching tonight and be watching CSI:Miami and Medium while doing gasp homework. Also in reading the summary of the bit I am reminded of a quote from Billy Madison. Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. Guest Fook Report post Posted October 25, 2005 Raw Thoughts: - Poor Shelton. Doesn't even get an appearance anymore. - Blah opener with majorly screwed up finish. Although I liked Show's no-selling of Michaels' flying forarm. - The entire Coach/Steph/Foley/Carlito segment was horrible. Logic gap #1 - How exactly did Steph know Carlito was coming out? - Women's match was pretty weak. That was one long small package at the end. - OK promo with Edge/Masters/JBL, although they need to keep Masters off the mike until he gets a better insult than "suckdown". TSN didn't censor the 619 to Lita. I guess they consider her more male than female. Logic gap #2 - If JBL couldn't get within 20 feet of the building, how did Mysterio make it all the way to the ring? - Complete non-match between HHH and Vis. Beats the alternative I guess. - The less said about that Vince thing, the better. When they cut to the footage and I saw Vince as a doctor, I immediately knew where they were going and switched to Seinfeld. I switched back at the end of the episode and this shit was STILL GOING! - Hurricane with the shades and non-green hair looks kinda like an evil Todd Grisham. Best spot of the night: Murdock "tagging" Rosey, then proceeding to beat him up some more. - Angle/Cena was mediocre. I'm surprised Cena got as loud a pop as he did as I figured Vince's segment should have killed the crowd. I guess Carlito has a finisher now. Logic gap #3 - Why didn't Bischoff make Cena "tap out" against Angle when the title was on the line? - Too much talking on the show this week. Not enough wrestling. Too many McMahons. Too much focus on the JR thing. It's like they're having a feud between Vince and JR. Whatever happened to wrestlers having feuds? Or camera time? - Is it just me or has Lawler taken on JR's old role of shilling the main event, yelling for Stone Cold, and badmouthing Vince while Coach has taken Lawler's old role of praising everything the McMahons do? - The whole "voting" thing for Taboo Tuesday is beyond rediculous. Would it kill them to actually give us credible choices and not blatantly tell us which ones they'd prefer we pick? Ooh, a normal match, a submission match, or a cage match for HHH/Flair? Even if Flair didn't do his spiel tonight, there's no way it won't be a cage match. Ditto the street fight with Coach and Austin, JBL and Rey facing Edge and Masters, and Michaels being in the title match.

jwpeer 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2005 The only thing of note on RAW was Carlito executing his finisher on Foley. I too skipped over the vince skit for football,s o I don't know anything about it except for it involved some sort of anal surgery, the less i know the better. Really the only thing that really INTERESTED me on RAW was Carlito's finisher, and that makes me sad
