I like it because it reinforces the fact that they can play defense, and that they will probably handle Cal quite easily.

While I'm pleased with this USC performance, it IS Stanford they are playing... the team that lost to UC-Davis.

Who destroyed Arizona State, who blew out Northwestern and probably should have beaten LSU. When you try to play the "this team who lost to this team, who beat this team" game it just makes your head hurt.

Such as Ohio State lost to Penn State who lost to Michigan who lost to Notre Dame who lost to Michigan State who lost to Purdue who lost to Iowa who lost to Iowa State who lost to Nebraska who lost to Kansas who lost to Oklahoma who lost to TCU who lost to Wyoming who lost to Utah.

Yeah, it's really hard.

Why bother giving Miami respect?

They get to win the ACC and win some meaningless bowl. Yahoo.

Why bother being a bitch?

You get to come here and try to be cool. Yahoo.

Thank you for the sweet comments.

Oh, it means a lot of money. And the pride of beating the super team who wins the Big East.

The reason Miami didn't have much hype or respect this year is that until tonight they had done nothing to earn it. They layed an egg vs. FSU in the opener and mostly have squashed jobbers since (and also just barely escaped Clemson). The best win they had was over the thrilling Big 12 north leaders Colorado, who ain't shit. I was one of the ones thinking Va Tech would beat them down tonight and this result flat out stunned me.

I guess Marcus isn't as good as his brother after all, huh?

Anyway after today's games we can pretty much boil it down to USC/Texas. I do wonder what would happen if Bama runs the table, but they are kind of a struggling team and would have to go through LSU, Auburn, and likely Georgia in the SEC title game. In other words it's not very likely.

That might not be all it means. Depends on if USC, Texas or Alabama lose, and I think that it would probably be a little more likely to be Penn State against Miami.

They aren't on probation, but it's going to be hell for them to get through their schedule without any semblance of an offense.

Was I mishearing things or was one of the announcers towards the end of the Miami-VT game complaining about how the Huricanes are being screwed by the BCS system because they have no chance of getting into the title game unless the undefeated teams lose? It seems that sportscasters are going to have to grasp at straws like "the BCS prevents previously beaten teams from redeeming themselves by getting the chance to upset unbeaten ones!" since it's becoming more and more likely we are going to end up with a USC vs. Texas matchup of unbeaten teams that are the clear top two.

For something completely different, the Sun Belt conference champ could very likely end up with a losing overall record which would be the second time it's happened (North Texas, 2001). Arkansas State was the only team in the conference with a winning record coming into today but proceeded to get murdered by Middle Tennessee State 45-7. Louisiana-Monroe now controls it's own destiny to win the conference but has to run the table to finish with a winning record as they are 3-5 at the moment. North Texas, the defending six-time conference champ, is only 2-6 overall but still could win the conference. Come on NCAA please Old Yeller this entire conference already.

Am I the only one that thinks right now Vanderbilt should be the favorite in their game against Tennessee? Given the massive egg the Vols have laid this entire season I wouldn't be surprised at all if this Vanderbilt team kicks them to the curb. Vandy in an SEC bowl game and UT not in one? Good grief.

What are they going to do about the bowl game for this season? At-large it?
