Downhome 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 This has been mentioned here before, but since it was just released yesterday (R2 only), I figured I'd start a thread about it. I ordered this tonight for $37.95, so I should have it pretty soon. Here are some different pictures of it: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B...6037552-3346039 And here is a review of it: http://www.sexgoremutants.co.uk/phantasmbox.html To get this set for the price I stated above, go to the following link, then click the link that comes up to activate the discount, then just search for Phantasm: http://www3.cd-wow.us/promotion.php?promo_...2_1&affid=14282 And for the record, CD-Wow is just about my favorite place to order DVDs from. The customer service can't be beat, and I've never had a package take longer than one week to get to me. Remember that you need to be able to play R2 DVDs if you want to pick this up, but that shouldn't be a problem for a lot of you. This is right up there with the R2 Hellraiser box set if you ask me. RedJed 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 Goddamn, this looks fantastic. Where can I get a region free DVD player for cheap again??!!!
RedJed 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 Why the hell, do we never get box sets like this? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, other than possible copyright issues or something, there is really no reason why we shouldnt be able to get these sets here in the states. Between this one, the Hellraiser one, and that impressive complete Halloween box set, I'm starting to finally consider a region free player.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 THIS IS BULLSHIT! Only 39 dollars! FUCK! Well, least I got to meet Angus. But this is horrible. I want this damn thing for my region DVD player and like, now.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2005 An easy way to get a region free DVD player: Go to WalMart, or just about any other store that has DVD players, and buy the Philips DVP642 DVD player. Once you get it home, there is a code that you type in using the remote, and then tada, it's a region free player. Even better, you can pick this player up for $50-$60, maybe less depending on where you get it. This is the one that I use, and it's just perfect, it will play any disc I put in it, no matter what the region code. To me, this is just about one of the easiest ways to go region free. Codes for DVD players can be found here: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks Just search for your DVD player that you already own, there might be a code for it also. Grenouille 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 Getting a region free player is easy enough, but what about the PAL-NTSC issue? Will a region free player be able to give the correct signal on an NTSC TV?
Downhome 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 Most DVD players in stores do that, so it wont be an issue. For example, I know for a fact that the Philips DVP642 takes care of it. Most DVD players you see in retail stores will take care of it also.
